First Heel You Ever Liked

I was writing in the heel turn thread that Cactus Jack was the first ever heel that I ever actually rooted for despite the fact he was a heel...

It seems as though during the mid ninties, with the nWo and Austin, it was kinda cool to root for the bad guy. This was mainly because most of us were older and realized that bad guys are just cooler. However, a lot of us grew up a wrestling fans, since we were like 5 or 6 for some of us. Back when we were little tikes the bad guys weren't cool, it was the good guys we liked, like Hogan, or Warrior.

What I want to know what who was the first heel that you began to actually root for and why? As for me it was Cactus Jack, I kinda liked him because he just seemed so crazy that I didn't really think of him as a bad guy, I just thought of him as some crazy nut going "Bang Bang" I always used to do the "Bang Bang" motion when I was little, I even did it in baseball whenever I hit a double or better in little league I'd poit my finger gun at the pitcher and go "Bang Bang" after 2 or 3 games I was told to stop cause it promoted violence or some garbage.

I would have to say Austin because that was the age where I wasn't totally a kid anymore, and I just liked the good guys up until then. Austin made it cool to be a bad guy, so I would have to say Stone Cold.

Pillman in 95 got me liking WCW more then the WWE. His "Loose Cannon" giimick was my favorite of all-time and he perfected it. You never knew what the fu** he would do next. He was fighting faces, he was fighting heels, he was fighting with his own team, he was fighting announcers, referees, fans. He was fighting everybody. I couldn't wait for Monday to see what the hell he was up to that week. Great Times.

Up until about 2000 when I started getting "smart" about wrestling I only ever liked 2 heels. The first was Ric Flair back in 1991 when he should up on WWF TV as the "REAL World's Champion"....man I ate it up. And the other heel was Brian Pillman of 1995. Yup....in the 15 years of my life as a wrestling fan those were the only two heels I rooted for in my youth.

I've liked a lot of heels since I was young, I was about 11 when I started watching wrestling and my favorite guys at the time were Mr Perfect and Demolition. I was an Undertaker fan from day one, and a big fan of Shawn Micheals from the second he punted Jeanetty through the window. I also always liked Heenan as a heel announcer.

Ric flair, the whole "take 10 punches to the head, walk along and then fall face first" had me in fits laughing. I can remember survivor series 91 watching it, he walked through the ropes, got onto the floor then just dropped face first, nearly choked on my drink laughing.

I doubt anyone else is going to say this one.

I.R.S

Now i was still a really big mark when he was in his prime working in Money Inc. But i thought he was a really decent worker, just clever stuff he did like go to the top rope for a move the fave would then raise a boot to catch him. IRS would then land on his feet, side step and then drop and elbow. Plus everytime he took a punch he would spit up and it would look like a tooth, i thought the guy didn't have any teeth.

Plus his gimmick was pure cheap heat, but as we dont have the same tax system in the K i didn't really get into that, so he was the first heel that i reckonised and like. It would be several years till that happened again

Hollywood Blondes Brian Pillman was my the second heel I rooted for after Cactus Jack.

Some other noteable heels I rooted for in my youth...

Arn Anderson (even though I hated the Horsemen, go figure)
Rick Rude
Mr. Perfect
Doom (the tag team)
The Fabulous Freebirds
Barry Windham (once again even though I hated the horsemen)
Dangerous Dan Spivey
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper (now that I think about it he may have been the first)

But those were the only guys I liked that were heels during my youth, the first time I considered a heel my favorite wrestler in the buisness was Chris Jericho in WCW, buit I was like 14 or 15 by then so I wasn't ignorant to the wrestling buisness at the point, I started predicting storylines correctly and what not. I think Jericho was obne of the best heels ever in WCW just think about it...

Man of 1004 Holds
Jericho 3 Greenberg 0 (in fact that was my first sig here at TPWW, with a pic of Jericho an Ralphus)
Jericho looking up law books to get his Cruiserweight title back that was brilliant.
...and RALPHUS!

Earthquake and HBK.

When Earthquake was a singles wrestler going aginst Hogan, instant heat.
As of HBK, my twin bro and I were HUGE marks for The Rockers. Well, the week before they broke up they had a title shot VS The LOD. As we all know, Marty was the one to lose the match. I mean, yeah, Hawk (I think) got the pin on Shawn, but it was Marty's dropkick that made Hawk fall while he was holding HBK for a powerslam.
I thought Shawn was the reason why the Rockers were cool, my bro thought it was Marty, and to this very day we'll still argue about it.

i have never really liked any heels.
i wasnt a fan during the whole DX, Austin and NWO era, so i sorta missed that whole cheer for the bad guy era.

I'd say, when I got back into wrestling about 6 months ago, I really like booker when watching the invasion angle. However, prolly the only heel i've ever TRULY rooted for has been:
Kurt Angle, Your Olympic Hero...it's true, it's true!

I used to hate all heels...MOST OF ALL SHAWN MICHAELS! My God!, he was such a prick, i remember he used to always just leave the ring when he was loosing a mathc for the IC belt and I used to go fucking crazy @ him!
and Owen hart! What a PRICK!!! Telling the person in Bret's corner to throw in the towel cos Backlund had the crossface chicken wing on him for like 1/2 an hour, then, once the towel was thrown in, owen celebrated! I hated him so much!!!

Wolverine does not have that much rep yet (10+)
No doubt in my mind, first heel i ever liked, the greatest manager ever in the WWE/F and the greatest by far announcer in WWE/F Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan

Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, then Hulk Hogan, as the nWo. I liked Hall since his WWF days as Razor Ramon as a face, and never stopped liking him when he left to "go to war with WCW". I was like, " finally, the WWF vs. WCW", meanwhile I had only been really watching wrestling for like a year and a half back then.

Also, back when I first started watching ECW, I didn't know who was heel or face, and I basically liked that whole roster.

The first heel that I really liked was Jericho. I have been a Jerichoholic from the day he stepped foot in the WWE. I also supported the Olympic Hero Kurt Angle and I liked HHH during 99 and 2000. How times change.

I liked Jericho since I first saw him in ECW. Face in ECW, face in WCW, heel in WCW. I LOVED his "Master of the Legal Loophole" gimmick where he kept getting the Cruiserweight Title back for ridiculous reasons. Then, he came to the WWF and I still liked him.

first ever tho was prob the undetaker purly for the fact that unlike hogan (who would syke himself up and then point when mad aftre being beat on) the undertaker would have the shit kicked out of him, look as though he would lose, then paul bearer would lift the urn and undertaker would just sit up and you could see the fear on the face of his oponent as they had no idea how to keep him down.

then undertaker would get up beat on them and then tombstone them! had to love the guy for it. (he could make his apperance a little more like his old self by wearing the purple gloves again and the old type vest he use to wear)
