Should I watch Les Miserables or Life of Pi?
I'm going to the cinema and dinner for my birthday. I don't get to the cinema very often because I live over 60 miles away from my nearest one. I have the choice between Les Miserables and the Life of Pi and really want to see both, but can only pick one.
Which one would you recommend and why?

Life of Pi unless you're really into Les Miserables or musicals in general. Life of Pi has better visuals and a better story. The entirety of Les Miserables is sung which is off putting if you're not into. It also drags like a motherfucker. Feels every minute of 2 and a half plus hours.
Les Miserables isn't bad. Just depends what you're into. On the whole, Life of Pi is the better film. |

Add in the fact that Les Miserables has been done about 5 times over.
Go see Life of Pi. |

Django. The singing in Les Miserables was abysmal with a few exceptions. Jackman's vibrato annoyed the hell out of me and Russel Crowe was just as bad.

both of these have screeners online. For the sake of 60 miles, I'd go and see something I can't download in a fraction of the time it takes to make the journey. Which probably doesn't leave a lot given it's award season and everything is online. Wait 2 weeks and go see DIE HARD
