Would you be satisfied if.....

Would you be satisfied if you were a WWE Diva.

On the positive side you are in the WWE and have the ability to wrestle for the large crowds. You get the Mania payday and, probably, make more than any wrestler on the Indy scene. You get to brand your name if you ever take your talents away from wrestling, for example Trish Stratua and Stacy Kiebler.

On the negative, you are put in pointless matches 90% of the time. The writers seem to care more about Zack Ryder than your entire division.

As much crap as people say about the WWE Divas they still have it good. Would you be satisfied if you were a WWE Diva or would you want more?

I guess I would be satisfied just being in the WWE, getting the money and the exposure. Whereas a guy like Ryder will always be unsatisfied that they're not main-eventing, I suppose the divas already accepted the fact that they'll never headline PPV's or Wrestlemania.

yeah and a lot of the divas are there for a few years and then leave make and make tons of money just based off their name. They aren't as attached to "wrestling" in a negative light like the guys

The money is pretty good to great compared to other promotions but long term depends on what the hiring was based on.

The WWE barely puts any effort or real focus on the division so the job should be a lot more satisfying and easier if the hiring was because of modeling experience than being an actual wrestler.

Think you fall into 2 brackets here;

Bracket 1) The swimwear models that get picked up and promoted for a few years, probably making more money compared to what they would usually be doing or at least earn a guaranteed salary. Girls like Eve, Aksana, Eva Marie, The Bellas, who may see the
WWE as a stepping stone to bigger things.

These girls are happy just to get the exposure.

Bracket 2) are the girls like Beth Phoenix and Kaitlyn, and more than likely AJ. The girls that are in it to be female wrestlers but eventually tire of the "mistreatment" of the division and up and leave. Not because they envisage "bigger and better" things but because they become so disillusioned with the business.

It's where the money is for wrestlers regardless of gender, while TNA/ROH etc might not be the most lucrative places to ply your trade if you've made a name for yourself in the WWE you'll make a lot more in those places than Indy Darling #342 who hasn't. And womens wrestling especially has a much shorter career window in general.

I'd be getting paid a very good wage to perform for a maximum of 10 minutes if that, or valet a male to the ring, sign autographs and take pictures with people who want to meet/meat me. I'd be ok with that.

DIVAS shouldnt exist.. They get a good 15 - 20 minutes total every Raw and have the whole total divas thing and still cant make it even look credible.. Women and fighting dont mix unless the women are legit huge/intimidating like Kong, Chyna, Phoenix, ODB.

Or actually talented like Paige, and stunning, also like Paige.

Depends on why I would be in the business. If I'm there for the sole purpose to cash in on good looks and limited at best ability, then yeah, I'd say I'd be pretty satisfied. It's not like they're putting work night in, night out, worrying about selling merch, or getting over.

If I was being my usual self, a person who loves wrestling, I'd probably be annoyed about the lack of time and effort put into developing the division. Just because they get tv time and have their own stupid show doesn't mean there's any effort being put into getting the division recognition or building any sort of legitimacy with it. But at the same time, with the money you're making being much more and the opportunity being so much greater to gain exposure than any other outlet, hard to walk away the way Gail Kim did.

I wouldn't mind if the DIVA division only wrestled on NXT and then worked as valets and the occasional intergender tag match on Raw and Smackdown.

Divas help draw women and young girls into being fans. They make them feel "empowered" or something. It also makes the company look good when hot chicks are linked to it. It makes it seem a little more acceptable to the masses when someone like Trish Stratus is a part of it and seems to have respect for it. That's pretty much why they should exist as wrestlers.

I'm okay with having them involved, but having them be successful managers who occasionally get in the ring works better for everyone I think. I'm even okay with maybe them having a champion as long as the wrestling doesn't take too long and happens once or twice a month.

I've wanted them to bring valets back for a while now just to keep the ones who aren't directly in the one title feud relevant. Let them stay involved a little with the guys and give the title feud a good story and one segment per Raw and all is good.

I don't think the divas ability to be relevant is any more their fault than the entire undercard's ability to stay relevant is theirs. If the storyline is good, they become relevant and interesting. If it's not, they don't. That simple. The Mickie James vs Trish Stratus storyline was AMAZING for example because the writers actually tried and hashed out the story week by week to make it compelling.

It's hard to say they should not be on Raw. That is a 3 hour show and should represent every department of the WWE: Main event, attractions, mid card, low card, and divas. Taking their 10 minutes of television is not going to benefit anyone.

I can only vouch for my girlfriend here but she hates the Divas. I think she sees through the very thin veneer of them being anything but t&a put out there as a token gesture.

By no means is she a smart fan but even she can tell that the women's stuff just doesn't look good.

Also, whilst women's wrestling in general doesn't float my boat, I'll never understand why Vince/HHH/whoever wouldn't want it to be the best it could possibly be. Surely they have somebody there that would want the opportunity to bring a whole division along. If I we're running the show I'd have teams of writers/bookers/agents running each division separately. They'd present their plans both long-term and short-term and the best ideas get used - as long as they don't crossover too much.

A team for Divas, Tags, Main Event, Midcard championships, and one for "other talent". All would be aiming to make the most compelling show with what they have talent wise. A bit of cross-pollination between the groups would be fine, if a talent gains traction they can be boosted up a group. Say if the "midcard championship" writers are constantly on fire, pulling out the best TV, they'd eventually get a shot at booking the "Main Event" scene.

I think it was Jeritron who said on here that if you're a hot woman you can have pretty much any job you choose, why would you want to be on the road all the time for relatively little money compared to other actresses.

Plus the fact you cant have much of a social life due to not being at home, ever. Sure theres perks but the cons outweigh the pros IMO.

Sure, I'd be a hot braud (unless I were Rosa Mendes) and would have an array of athletic gentlemen's cocks to choose to gobble on.

Ruien,

If you think about it, you *are* pretty much a WWE Diva.

Like the Divas, 90% of your existence is pointless, and you end up sucking the dicks of greased up muscular men.

The only difference between you and a Diva, is that a Diva makes 8 times more money than you.

In answering your question however, I think most are satisfied.

Or a guy or two they build up get a chance to shine and eventually jump to the main event from the strong booking. This idea makes a lot of sense. Also breeds competition between groups, which is good for everyone.

Does anyone remember when the DIVA division and Diva's championship was actually called the women's championship. Not that it matters but it kinda shows how the WWE values the division these days.
