I wont get into the whole Hardy vs Jarrett argument because both sides have good points. And Frankly I am a little undecided myself.

I was more refering to the waste of promotion for this to be a loss. I should have been more specific my bad.

I realy feel it should have been Raven to get this match and preferably a win.

Here are the TNA results

TNA Results for 9/8/04
By: Chris “The Authority” Schultz

This being the last night for NWA TNA’s pay per view on Wednesday nights from the Asylum, all the competitors were stoked and ready to go in what would turn out to be a historic night. The action kicked off with the athletes who put NWA TNA on the map and revolutionized professional wrestling forever. Of course I am talking about the X Division.

X Division Tag Team Dominance Match

This match was full of former X Division Champions and future up and coming superstars, whom are all high flying and explosive in the ring. Among the tag team that competed where, “Hotshot” Johnny Devine & Current X Division Champion, Petey Williams, D-Ray 3000 & Sharkboy, Michael Shane & Kazarian, Delirious & Sonjay Dutt, Jerell Clark & Mikey Batts, and the Amazing Red & Chris Sabin. Although, Shane and Kazarian admit to being the greatest tag team in the X Division, we were about to find out if that is the truth or not. The rules were simple. Eliminate a wrestler by throwing them over the top rope. The last 2 competitors in the ring will bring in their tag team partner and battle for the win.

In what came as a shock to most, the X Champion himself, Petey Williams, was eliminated first and thrown over the top rope. After that, it seemed as if someone was sent crashing to the Asylum floor one after one until there were only 4 left. Those 4 survivors were Johnny Devine, Sonjay Dutt, Kazarian, and Jerell Clark. In the end, it wound up being the tag team of Michael Shane and Kazarian taking on PPV newcomers, Clark and Batts. The former X Division Champions went to work on Batts while Clark could only look on. Batts eventually tagged in Clark who was pelted with a Superkick from Michael Shane, but before Shane could make the cover, Mikey Batts snuck in from behind and rolled him up for the 3 count and the victory!

Cameras then shifted to the back where Scott Hudson was standing by with a very pumped up Triple X. Hudson told them that AMW would not be able to compete tonight due to the injury that Tennessee Cowboy James Storm suffered to his shoulder last week. However, Triple X would still take on the Naturals for the titles later in the evening. Primetime exclaimed that they were going to show the Naturals why they are rated X! Daniels added by saying that tonight the belts come back to the best tag team in the world and that once they win the belts, they will give AMW a shot to prove who the best tag team is. Just then, the Naturals attacked an unsuspecting Daniels and Primetime with powder and steel chairs, leaving Triple X on the concrete floor in the back.

Sonny Siaki, Erik Watts, and Desire vs. Abyss, Alex Shelley, and Goldylocks

Last week Watts freed Sharkboy and D-Ray 3000 from Goldylocks control and he was out to destroy her entourage once and for all tonight in an intergender match. After making Watts’ life a living hell for the last few months, it was time for some payback with his friends Siaki and Desire along for the ride. The match started with Watts going one on one with the monster, Abyss who has single handedly carried Goldylocks to her recent success in TNA. Unfortunately, Abyss never got any credit and was cursed at by Goldy time and time again. Same thing happened in this match, with Abyss doing all the work in the ring, while Alex Shelley wanted to take all the glory.

Later in the match, Goldylocks and Desire started to lock up and Abyss saw what was happening. He immediately put a choke hold on Desire and was ready to chokeslam her to the canvas floor, but Erik Watts’ wife came to ringside and pleaded for him to release her. Goldylocks told him to go ahead and do it and became so angry with Abyss, that she slapped him across the face. Abyss then snapped at Goldy and put her in the chokehold while letting Desire go free. The monster then gave his manager a vicious back breaker, giving Desire the opportunity she needed to cover Goldylocks for the win.

Attention then shifted to the back again where Hudson was standing by with Scott D’Amore and Team Canada behind him. He told Hudson that tonight he does a favor for Russo, the boys in the back, and TNA. He then went on to say that an athlete dies 2 deaths. His death is when his career ends and the second is when his life ends. He told Dusty that he would die his first death tonight.

“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles vs. Kid Kash (Tables Match)

This match was billed as the final showdown between two TNA superstars who hate each other’s guts. Saying that there is bad blood between the two of these men would be an understatement. The first person to put their opponent through 2 tables would win the match. The encounter went back and forth with neither man able to capitalize. Both of these former X division champions held nothing back. The Notorious K-I-D got the first strike when he back suplexed Styles through a table in the ring. Sensing that Kash had the edge, Styles evened the match when he used a backwards kick from the top rope, which sent Kid Kash through a table which stood below at ringside.

Just when you though you were going to see a match with no interference from the outside, Kash’s family member Dallas made his way through the crowd and to ringside. Just as he was attempting to get involved in the match, AJ Styles countered and fought him off. The Phenomenal One than gave Kid Kash a Styles Clash off the top rope and through the table for the victory. As Styles was walking back up the ramp, he was suddenly attacked from behind by X Division Champion, Petey Williams. Williams got him back in the ring where both he and Dallas began to lay into him. Kash made his way back to his feet and hit a hard frog splash on Styles from the top. Before things could get any worse, the 3 Live Kru came down and ran them off.

Scott Hudson was standing by with the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes who was excited at getting his shot at the Canadian loudmouth, Scott D’Amore later in the evening. He said he was going to do the American people a favor and shut him up. He also said he couldn’t lose because he has invested interest in Jeff Hardy winning the championship later in the night. The Dream brought him into TNA to begin with.

Dusty Rhodes vs. Scott D’Amore w/ Special Referee Vince Russo

Before the match even started, cameras caught the 3 Live Kru and Vince Russo having it out at the top of the ramp. Vince Russo actually seemed to be calling it right down the middle for a majority of the match. The action in the match saw Scott D’Amore attempt a risky moonsault from the top rope, which he missed. Rhodes then got up and started to assault the leader of Team Canada with some vicious rights and lefts. He even accidentally hit Russo with an elbow, dropping him to the canvas floor.

When the Director of Authority got back to his feet, he grabbed his bat, which he had brought to ringside. Dusty used his famous Bionic Elbow on D’Amore leaving him lying in the middle of the ring. Rhodes turned around to see Russo with an angry look on his face and bat in hand, but the DOA kept his cool and proceeded to count the pin after Rhodes dropped an elbow on D’Amore for the victory. In the end, Rhodes went to shake Russo’s hand, but before they could embrace, Team Canada attacked the Dream. D’Amore even got up and got into the face of Vince Russo, who was ready to fight. Before anything else could happen, the 3 Live Kru came back out to run of our brethren from the North.

Scott Hudson was then standing by with the Naturals who had just found out that The Fallen Angel, Christopher Daniels could not compete due to their attack on him earlier in the night. Hudson informed them that they will still compete in a match tonight for the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Chase Stevens said that they were proud for what they did and asked who was left. Andy Douglas followed up by saying he didn’t care who it was that they faced, and that they will go in champs and leave as the champs.

Before the NWA Tag Team Title Match was to begin, TNA Executive Committee member, Larry Zbysko came out and introduce the Naturals to their opponents. They were “Wildcat” Chris Harris and “Primetime” Elix Skipper.

NWA Tag Team Title Match
The Naturals vs. Chris Harris and Primetime

Both Chris Harris and Primetime may be bitter rivals, but they share a common enemy in the Naturals and they were out for revenge for what they did to their respective partners. These rivals turned teammates turned out to work well with each other, and why not. They have faced each other numerous times and are bound to know how one another worked in the ring. The early advantage went to the challengers even thought they were not too happy to be teaming together.

The Naturals then took control and worked on Skipper for a while, keeping him away from Chris Harris who was anxious to get in at the other corner of the ring. Primetime finally got the tag and Harris reversed the momentum in the match. Chase Stevens was about to use a chair on Chris Harris, but Primetime hit him with some steel of his own. At the same exact time, Andy Douglas got drilled by a spear from Chris Harris before he could throw powder into his face. Harris then covered Douglas for the 3 count and he became the new NWA Tag Team Champion along with Primetime! How will this work out for AMW and Triple X?

In Hudson’s last interview of the night, he stood alongside “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown who had a chair in his hand. The chair was not to be used against anybody, but rather Brown himself, so he can sit ramp side and watch the upcoming NWA World Heavyweight Title Match between Jeff Jarrett and Jeff Hardy. He went on to say that the eyes of a killer will be watching.

NWA World Heavyweight Title Match
Jeff Jarrett vs. Jeff Hardy

It was now time for a date with fate. The King of the Mountain vs. The Charismatic Enigma. The Stroke vs. The Swanton. The Figure Four vs. The Spineline. It was time to see if Jeff Hardy could realize his childhood dream of becoming the NWA Heavyweight Champion by defeating Jeff Jarrett in tonight’s main event. A fight broke out between the 2 superstars before the bell even rang and continued to attack each other while Jeremy Borash was desperately trying to introduce the champion and challenger. Jeff Jarrett was bleeding all over his face before the bell even rang. This match up was for real and both competitors knew that they had a big task at hand.

It was Hardy and Jarrett’s first meeting in the ring, with The Alpha Male, Monty Brown, Abyss, and Raven all looking on with their own intentions. The match was outstanding and went all through the Asylum and into the rafters. After making their way back to the middle of the ring, Jeff Hardy was able to hit his Swanton, but Jarrett kicked out. Dusty Rhodes then showed up at ringside. Jeff Jarrett then hit the Stroke on Hardy, but he kicked out as well. Jarrett then slapped on his Figure Four leg lock, which Hardy was able to flip over and reverse. Jeff Hardy then took the opportunity to put the champ in the Spinline, but Jarrett got to the ropes and the referee had to break the hold.

Jarrett fell to the outside where Dusty Rhodes was watching on. He and the American Dream then came to blows on the apron until Director of Authority, Vince Russo came down and told Rhodes to leave. Hardy went for another Swanton to finish off Jarrett, but the he rolled out of the way. Sensing Hardy was getting close to taking his title, Jarrett reached for his trusty friend, the guitar. He smashed it over the head of Jeff Hardy without the referee seeing and was able to cover him for the pin and successfully defend his title. Monty Brown, Abyss, and Raven all watched on as Jeff Jarrett was able to get pass his biggest challenge yet. See you at the Road to Victory!

Looks like Jarret vs Raven vs Hardy vs Brown at Victory Road prehaps any thoughts?

Nice way to build someone up like that who the fans are really into and they don't go over. You can kiss TNA goodbye if they keep this shit up. First Raven and now Hardy. Welcome to backsatge politics.

Now watch when someone beats Jarrett it will be because of bullshit.

Jarrett is an asshole, he doesn't care about buyrates or anything, he just wants to make himself look good, notice how in every match a face was the winner. He just doesn't care about what's right in the long run for the business.

I'm just tired of seein Jarrett with the belt. And really tired of seein him in the ring. I watched him more than a couple of times. I mean the matches, even though they were against jobbers, were crap matches. And "The Stroke" looks pathetic for a finisher for a world champ.

Not that Hardy is as good and magnificent as they make him to be he woulda been a new flava for the title scene other than Jarrett.

I've watched barely any TNA (cos its not on in Aust) but...

Where is AJ Styles? - I thought he was champ atm?
I've seen a bit of kid kash, could he be champ soon?
and Triple X, arent they all decent wrestlers who could be champs?
or Roaddog even.... ?

do these guys even get chances to be champ?

Doesn't matter if you guys like Hardy or not. Believe it or not, but Hardy is probably the most over guy in the company. People come to the shows to see Jeff H. and to have him lose last night to another bullshit finish is just ridiculous. They killed a lot of the momentum Hardy had with him going into the show. You can't do that. Jarrett is killing that company and he better get his act together or it's bye bye TNA.

Don't you think if Hardy won the Title, Impact might of gotten a few more viewers tommorrow? I do.

Seriously, you people expouding how Hardy doesn't deserve the title, etc, it doesn't really matter at this point. They've spent months investing in Hardy, and getting the fans behind him, for the biggest push of the man's life, and they kill it all in one night. Granted, it's still possible for Hardy to stay where he is, if they're willing to invest in some kind of stipulation match, but if Hardy is going to the midcard now, they've wasted all of the promotion and buildup they stacked on Hardy's shoulders.

I stick by what I have always said...Jeff Hardy doesnt deserve to fight for the heavyweight belt. When I think of Jeff Hardy I see him more in the X Division. He should go after that. He shouldnt be in the heavyweight title run. Leave that to the big guys. Im glad that Jarrett won because I dont know if I could stand to see Hardy as the new champ.

4 Champions in two years is just stupid. I'm glad Ken Shamrock decided that TNA isn't for him, it's no wonder why guys like D'Lo Brown and Low Ki would rather wrestle in Japan, not only is the money better but so is the exposure and build up.

I have to disagree with alot of you guys.

Jeff Hardy is new and only been with the company for about two months. Maybe they saving Jeff Hardy big moment for TNA first big ppv, which makes sense.

Jeff Jarrett only been champion for 3 and a half months. That's not a long time.

There's only been 4 champions in TNA history which is good because it make the World title harder to get. WWE had 6 World champions(Brock,Eddie,HHH,Benoit,JBL and Orton) this year alone which don't make no got damn sense.

TNA is not trying to compete with the WWE. TNA is trying to do their own thing.

Don't count TNA out yet. People always doubted TNA from the beginning and TNA is stronger than ever. I'm kind of proud of what they accomplished and hope they continue the success.

I'm just wonderin if you realize just what you are sayin.

From a technical stand point it is 6 champs.

From a literal stand point. 3 champs for each show. Brock, Eddie, JBL on SmackDown!

3 champs on Raw. HHH, Benoit, Orton.

Fact of the matter is kid, TNA is beginnin to drop the ball and unless they pick it back up and run iwht it real quick they will start to lose viewers and that is one thing that no organization needs.

You have to admit, Jarrett have not been champion for a long time. 3 and a half month is not that long. ROH Samoe Joe been champion for about 18 months and it has not hurt the company. I recommend more long term champions.

That be saying, I know alot of people is tired of Jarrett but Jarrett gets the job done. If Hardy gets the title, I doubt he will do anything big with the title. Raven and Styles on the other hand can. I still think Jarrett will lose the title on November 7 and we will all forget about this whole conversation.

TNA did not blow it because it was not a big event when you think about it. If Jarrett keeps the title after November 7th, I will 100% agree with you.

That's AJ Styles decision, Styles wanted to go back to the X Division. I'm sure if Styles decide to go after the World title, he will probably get a shot right away.

Well since Jarrett is doing the booking for Victory Road, I see the main event as being Jeff Jarrett in a gauntlet match against Raven, Monty Brown, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Sabu, Abyss, XXX, 3 Live Kru, Christopher Sabin, AMW, Scott Steiner (possibly), Hulk Hogan, Ken Shamrock, and Alex Shelley. He will come out first against Ron Killings and retain his title against everyone, only using his guitar against the final contestant (Steiner).

So instead of the Swanton and twist of fate, he has a submission move as a finisher now? A high flyer should not be ground wrestling. My opionion

It's not really a finisher. They just gave it to him so he had something to counteract the figure four.

So Jeff Hardy's chance at establishing himself as a main eventer is pretty much ruined. Hopefully for Hardy's sake the fans still take him seriously if he's going to compete for the NWA title at Victory Road.

As for Monty Brown, he's getting built up for nothing because he's terrible. Raven should be in that spot, and have the NWA title around his waist.
