Fantastic Four Movie

www.IGN.com

September 23, 2004 - USA Today recently published the first official photos of the Fantastic Four. Now The Comic Reel has posted higher quality versions.

The photos below show the 20th Century Fox film's stars – Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis, Jessica Alba and Chris Evans – in costume as the titular superheroes. The costumes look similar to the blue bodysuits traditionally worn by the comic book characters. Reed Richards (Gruffudd) has grey temples, Sue Storm (Alba) is blonde but, alas, Johnny Storm (Evans) is not.

For many fans, though, it's all about The Thing. Although a few spy pics of Chiklis on the set appeared online last week, the official photos show the Thing bodysuit and make-up in far greater detail. While the film's Ben Grimm doesn't quite have the rocky brow depicted in the comics, he does resemble the way Jack Kirby first drew the character.

"That is the whole center of Ben's problem – he's trapped," Chiklis advised USA Today when asked about the rubber suit he wears. "He's a tragic hero. It's a delicate balance between formidable and ferocious and warm and fuzzy."

In related news, Hollywood North Report has posted some more spy pics of Chiklis in costume, this time accompanied by co-star Kerry Washington who portrays his love interest Alicia Masters.

Ioan Gruffudd as Mr. Fantastic

Michael Chiklis (R) as The Thing.

Jessica Alba as Sue Storm

Chris Evans as Johnny Storm.

Although I am looking forward to this (Just because of Chiklis and Julian McMahon), and the costumes do look pretty good, I have a feeling in my stomach that its going to suck. The script isn't supposed to be very good apparently =/

Hmm, I'm more interested in seeing what they do with Doctor Doom, personally.

True. Victor Von Doom 4 lyf.

The only issue I have with those picture is that The Things's eyebrows don't jut out as much as they should.

I think that might have been the old version they were referring to in the article. It was crap.
