So confused.

Would the chip be a reason why a video card wouldn't work. My friend just bought a new video card, and on the box it says it needs a p3, Amd Duron, Athlon or highter class processor. So what I need to know to help is, are Celeron's like p3's, or are they a step below p3's, or are Celeron's like the in between p3 and p4 type thing.

Yes, that could be the reason it won't work. I'm not to familiar with Intel processors but I do believe that Celeron processors came after P3 and before P4.

The Celeron is a family all in itself so it may not be compatible. Are you getting any errors? If so which ones?

We weren't getting any errors, we'd turn the pc on with the card in, and the screen would just stay black, and the pc wouldn't even try to boot. At first, we thought it was his agp port, but I tried 2 of my video cards, they worked. It doesn't matter anymore, he just took it back. So I stayed up till 5am for nothing And my friend wonders why I say ATI is better the NVidia.

Sorry to hear that. ATI is a good choice though. I got a 9800 and it hasn't given me any problems. Hope he has better luck next time.
