John Cena Incident

From 411Mania.com:

-John Cena has been vocally against WWE's policy to not give wrestlers first class or business class seats on overseas flights. WWE decided that the seats was a good area to cutback on. While WWE Title holders are expected to take a leadership role backstage, many were surprised that Cena was vocal about the issue due to his usually laid back attitude.-

Wow. Part of me is happy to hear that, because I want to see JBL win the WWE Title again at Judgment Day. It probably isn't that big, though.

Just a little piece of info about Cena's developement as a backstage leader.

Its funny that the WWE expects the wrestlers to reach into their pockets to pay for dress shirts and slacks in order to look more professional, but when it comes to the company shelling out a few extra bucks for better seats on a plane (which would create the same illusion the clothes do) the WWE balks at it.

At least they are consistant.....

BTW, they have too much money invested in Cena at this point to give up on him for anything really. With the CD, the movie and everything, its hard to imagine anything Cena could do to get the WWE to put a halt to his push.

I think its good of Cena to use his new found power to speak up for the boys.

Yup, i think the rapper thing has gone a bit too far with the spinner belt bullshit. His gimmick is a rapper but whys it have to extend to the belt? Sure austin had the smoking skull belt but it at least still looked like something youd expect a wwe title to look like. I mean whats next? Kane wins a title and gets a belt that shoots fire? Triple h gets the title back and it comes with a waterbottle holder? Flair gets a belt that pulls down his tights momentarily when he shouts woo to flash the audience?

Seriously, though, I would be glad if the WWE gave jBL another run with the title.

Have Christian & Tyson Tomko aid The Cabinet in beating down Cena. It eventually gets to the point where Cena cannot keep taking it, and he says "I Quit".

I'm a huge fan of Cena's ability, but I really think this I Quit Match could be used to boost JBL, Christian, Orlando Jordan, Tyson Tomko & The Basham Brothers as extremely credible heels. I know the same thing can be said for Cena winning making him a credible face, but I think the the fans really cared about the Cena character, he can lose the title without losing too much steam.

The only problem I can see with that is that this is a cost-cutting measure by the WWE. Instead of slicing down their payroll, they'd reducing the cover they provide for their employees, which is probably better for guys like Shannon Moore and Akio, who would be likely casualties if the WWE did make more roster-cuts.

It's nice to see Cena taking position on this, but it may end up working against guys. I can easily see the WWE saying "Fine, but we need to cut back on even more talent. Bye cruiserweights."

It seems the WWE has started to worry about money. I'm not going to pretend to be better with finances than the WWE, because that would be a lie, but I think the saying "You need to spend money to make money." would be a good slogan for the WWE to obide by.

Focus on keeping the guys backstage happy and you will have better shows, guaranteed. If you had a happy Funaki and a sad Funaki do the exact saem moves in the ring, the happy Funaki will do them better.

Focus on good storylines. I don't know any of the WWE writers, but I know they probably get paid a lot, and whoever wrote the idea for The Masterpiece storyline doesn't deserve that money. Get rid of the Hollywood writers that haven't watched wrestling before and are just writing soap opera cliches into feuds, and get guys who know wrestling in and out, and get them to write the shows.

Granted, Paul Heyman gets a bit loose at at times, but if the WWE let him write for a show, it will probably get better reactions from both the fans and the wrestlers. He loves wrestling, he's obsessed with it, and he is jus oozing with the creativity to take the reigns and get somewhere, but instead the WWE are trying to bring in writers who have worked on outside projects that are supposed t be able to bring in outside fans.

We watch wrestling because we are wrestling fans, not 90210 fans (we might be, but that isn't why we watch wrestling). We want the writers to share the same love as we do, so we can share a conenction to the show.

Well I sort of went off-topic there with a rant, but yeah, I think Cena's got a good heart standing up, but I just hope it doesn't mean we won't ever get to see Paul London vs. Akio on SmackDown!.

I still like cena, not becuase of his wrestling skills, but mainly because i've never heard a bad word said about him, i met the guy and he was nice as pie and actually battle rapped a mate of mine on the street of seattle. Although all my mate was doing was rapping ice Ice Baby, i called it a draw.

There's not really any difference between the way Cena is now compared to how the Rock was back in the day. Charisma and Character over ability. The only problem with today is that Fans seem to be getting bored alot more quickly, they have no dam attention span.
