Carlito

Does the guy actually have a finisher?

Anyone played as him on any wrestling games? What happens when you press L1, does he just roll up the other guy and hold the ropes or what?

I seriously can't think of a time when he went over clean on anyone

Haha, yeah, I have no clue... there might be something listed in his profile at WWE.com...

"Finishing Move: Modified Swinging Neckbreaker"

Rather basic for a finisher.

I think he does the Overdrive - in real life anyway. He used to use this as a finisher, but lately has just won with roll-ups. Never played as him on a game though .

I guess the Overdrive is a modified swinging neckbreaker. I'll try and describe the move... Carlito puts his leg on the back of his opponents neck (whilst they're bending down - think FameAsser) and swings his leg inwards, causing the opponent to spin 180 degrees and fall onto the mat (lands facing upwards).

I think Orton used to use this as a finisher?

LOL. Also, does Rene Dupree have a finisher? On Smackdown V Raw he has the Dupree bomb, but I don't EVER recall him doing this - or any finishing moves in a match (except double team moves).

Monday it looked like Carltio was going for a Stroke before Shelton countered it and rolled Carlito up for a 2 count.

It was probably some other move but still I thought he was going for a stroke.

That's not the Play of the Day, the play of the day is when he has a gut on one of his shoulders and flips him off his shoulder so the guy lands face first on the mat.

... I'm pretty sure the Play of the Day is the swinging leg neckbreaker.

Unless all the time I heard it said in WCW the announcers got the move confused

The POD is the same as the Overdrive. I remember seeing carlito use this move once in one of his first few matches, but i have not seen it used since. And as for Dupree, he uses like a modified michinoku driver where he puts them on his shoulder then drives them down.

It may have been that the TNA announce team that got it wrong.

Is this the same move Reno ( in WcW ) used? Thats the first person i saw use that move. I thought it sucked then. I still think it sucks.

On a side note. Carlito's style seem almost exactly like Jeff Jarretts style in ring.

No, Reno used the Roll of the Dice (I like that name...) which is.. well... picture a reverse DDT... but swinging like a swinging neckbreaker... but only faster. so the opponent lands face first... Test used to use it as the Test-Drive.

Luther Reigns used that as well. And when he fought the Undertaker a few months ago at a PPV, forget which one, Luther hit a reverse DDT and Cole marked out and screamed "SWINGING NECKBREAKER!"

Rene Dupree's been using a Cobra Clutch to win matches on Velocity recently. I think that is the WWE's attempt to repackage him.

Rene also uses the Dupree Driver, which is basically a sit-down body slam (Michinoku Driver), and I have seen him win one match with a Powerbomb. I don't know why, but I always thought of it as the "Bastille Bomb". In OVW he did the Death Valley Driver, which he called the "French Riviere", I think.

Carlito used the Overdrive as a finishing move (which he should bring back under a cool name) and it seemed like he was going to go for the Front Russian Leg Sweep to win the match against Shelton this last week. They'll probably forget about the Overdrive though, and just give him a stereotypically generic move.

Nope, different move. Instead of swinging under like the Roll of the Dice (or Last Rites as Christopher Daniels calls it) Luther would grab their arm and have them swing the other direction for the neckbreaker. Similar but different.

Play of the Day, or P.O.D., is the neckbreaker where Elix puts his leg on the back of their neck. The other move that Elix uses is called Sudden Death which if you play the Smackdown video games would be one of the variations of the "Emerald Fusion". I have no idea what move you're talking about.
