Why is Kurt Angle good?
I know people will ridicule me, but I must ask for specific reasons why Angle is a good technicle wrestler. I can see he is better than some of the other superstars, but I can't quite pin down why. So, can people list reasons why Kurt is such an outstanding wrestler?

I am still awaiting a response. Can't people figure out why Angle is a good wrestler? And don't give me the "he won a medal" crap. As I said, that is a natural consequence that resulted on his qualities as a pro wrestler.

My question is, what are those qualities?

Let's see:

Talent: It's hard to quantify talent, but it's pretty easy to see. Angle had the chops for ameteur wrestling and managed to translate well into the "pro" scene. It's probably given him a leg up knowing how to actually handle a guy on the mat. No wait, it definitely has.

Charisma: A combination of presence, intensity and mic skills that really impresses him on people. He cuts golden promos as a whiny heel, a babyface, or a psychotic "Tazmanian devil." Not to mention his promos where he attempted to be cool...He was a riot.

Considering the amount of neck surgeries and other injuries, he still remains amazing and puts on great matches. It's pretty sad really, how great he can be, if it weren't for all that, who knows.

Just look at any of his matches with Benoit, Shawn Michaels, and Brock Lesnar and you tell ME why he's the greatest.

The fact is that Angle has so much ability that he can make almost anyone look awesome in a ring, and when he's in the ring with someone like Benoit, he puts on some of the best matches in the sport. Add that to the fact that he's one of the most charismatic wrestlers in the company and you can see why that he IS the best, quite possibly in the top 3 of all time.

The thing with Angle is, he's the best in the WWE because of one fact: He don't think he can become dated. Hogan comes out today, he's more of a nostalgia act. Shawn is balding, how can he still call himself the Heartbreak Kid? In Five Years, fans will be like "John Who?" I seriously believe that Angle could have debuted anytime during the past few decades, and he would have been worshipped. He does really good work in the ring, and when he gets on the microphone, genius comes out of his mouth.

Lets see....why is Angle good?

He created the world in six days and rested on the seventh.

He spent near 14 hours a day, 7 days a week training to win a gold medal, had his neck broken, still won a gold medal.

Can carry someone such as yourself to a good match.

Wrestled a Wrestlemania main event with a broken neck, with the full knowledge of one bad bump having the impact to kill him. Still had an amazing match with Brock Lesnar.

Made people give a shit about Cena.

Can walk on water.

He's athletic like few others in the business. He has charisma going up the wahzoo. His moves look legit. Probably the toughest dude on the roster in a shoot fight as well so he has instant credibility.

2. ability to adjust to any wrestler (if it's Benoit or Heidenreich it'll still be a guaranteed 4 star match)

The guy's hilarious, too. How I will have killed to have heard his "well, I think I've finally found someone whiter than me..." line on RAW this week. In a "shoot" fight, Angle could OWN Cena like there's no tomorrow.

The main thing that I think Angle displays to make him look so damn good is his in-ring intensity.

He always keeps a good pace, sells good, and handles wrestling transition moves quite well.

Very enjoyable to watch. Also add the fact that he is funny as hell when he wants to be.

Seriously, I think it can help explain why some people like someone and why others aren't.

First Steve Austin match I saw, I think it was against Sam Houston in WCW, first words coming out of my mouth were, and I quote "This guy's a good wrestler." I wasn't talking about Houston, btw. He had the ability and he had the "IT" factor.

Strange, how some of the better technical wrestlers of the 15 years I've watched regularly are the ones with either an amateur background (Angle, Shelton, Flair, Tazz), or were trained by some of the legit badasses back in the day, such as Killer Kowalski or Stu Hart (Triple H, Saturn, Benoit, Jericho).

Yes, Flair and Tazz both had amateur backgrounds.

Yes I agree. but why would someone question a superstars in-ring ability (and for Angle his ability outside the ring as well).
OKay its not always about how well they can perform in a match, sometimes you like a guy because hes good on the mic or whatever, but that doesnt make him GOOD.

What makes a wrestler good is the fact that they go out everyday and put on an awesome show for us. They put their body on the line more than once, they have an injury but still come out at a PPV, whether you 'mark out' when he does something insane, and whether they stay true to us, the fans. (Thats why no-one likes the WWE Creative Team)
