Stupid question, but what was the freaking point?
The JR angle, period?
Now, I know firing him was to get him offscreen. But why even bring up the whole Austin Angle when he was ducking offscreen? Rumours were flying before Austin ducked out that he didn't know about this in advance, and wasn't happy, etc., but the important thing is there was no way the fans were going to be happy with a Stone Cold loss, and there was no other way for it to really play out. He was fighting for JR, but we know that JR wasn't coming back one way or another, and that just reeks of bad business. Two things: 1: Austin's still no hero for ducking out. I don't advocate this kind of behaviour, period. 2: I know half of you are thinking "It's the WWE, what did you expect?" But this shit's retarded even by normal WWE standards. So what was the point? To milk Austin's "return" a couple more weeks in hopes of keeping ratings up? Have the bookers killed their last brain cell? What? “There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”--John Rogers |
