Does what's happening with Cena remind you of what happened with The Rock?

Ok firstly I don't mean Cena is as good as the Rock in any way, but I was watching a documentary on the biography channel about The Rock,and it showed when The Rock first turned heel which was before I was watching wrestling.The crowd just for some reason started boo'ing him like mad and if you ask me, that helped The Rock to become as good as he is today.Now a similar thing is happening to Cena, do you guys think he could possibly turn it around if given a new direction like the Rock was?Or are the writers just to fucking stupid to be able to do that?
