The State of Raw: One man's opinion
I'm finding myself less and less interested in the raw product right now. That's not to say that its been terrible, but I find myself saying (especially after the last 6 or 7 weeks) that Raw seemed kinda phoned in. They all seem rather similar, your typical Hunter and Vince butting heads that desperately wishes it had the heat of SCSA and Vince. Cena being booked in some uninteresting match, though his run ins with RVD before One Night Stand were kinda interesting. Other than that its all pretty much seemingly the same, the usual 5 star Umaga match, the Spirit Squad's (whom I'm not finding terribly interesting since they became Vince's personal bitches) weekly 5 on 1 beatdown on someone, etc. I wish I could say that the whole Foley/Edge/Dreamer/Funk thing was interesting, except I didn't feel that Terry funk belonged anywhere near a ring at this point. And the Foley turn seemed so.. blah. And I don't know that anyone could cite DX being interesting or fresh, considering A) we've seen it done before repeatedly and B)more than likely, its only a temporary 'stable'.
One thing that has me slightly interested is the Kane versus 'Kane' angle. Though I can't say that would have me tune in on a week to week basis. At this point the future doesn't seem significantly better unless they reunite the brands, as has been rumored. There is just a lack of interesting angles and fresh talent on raw, in my opinion. I won't even mention Smackdown, its been done in other threads. Thoughts on the Raw product right now? ![]() ![]() The question isn't: Who's Next? Who's First? Who's There? It isn't even Who's Left? The question is, who gives a shit? Last edited by dablackguy; 06-13-2006 at 03:54 PM. |
