Angle's release a decision by WWE
Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com posted a story saying the WWE.com interview done with recently released, Kurt Angle, was done so he can "save face" and make it sound like a mutual decision.
In actuality the release of Kurt Angle was a decision made by WWE themselves as they are very concerned about Kurt's health overall. Right now he is going through a divorce, his neck is really hurt and he will one day need neck fusion surgery that will effectively end his career, he has an abdominal injury and the groin tear. Because of these injuries he has been (as alluded to in the WWE.com article) using pain medication with regularity. WWE is worried that he wont rest and stop himself so they had to do so for him. The release is said to be WWE's only option to help him and is compared to the Jeff Hardy release from 2003 in that WWE feels he has a problem right now and Kurt doesnt and in an effort to help him they had to release him. WWE is said to be very open to bringing him back down the line. We will continue to follow this story and have more when we know it. |
