Finally figured out WWE.com's image display - Captions Return?
Okay, the main reason that we don't do captions is because it's a pain in the ass to pull the images from WWE.com (and we need to re-host them). As long as WWE.com doesn't change this part of the script (which I doubt they will), this will always work.
The images are actually background images to prevent copying. I snooped through their java files and found this. Right clicking and choosing "view background image" (at least in Firefox) shows the image. I found an extension for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1853/ . This saves background images. Also, looking through the archives, I don't think they'll be changing URLs. If they do and we use the WWE.com hosted ones we're fucked, which is why I propose this question. Shall we bring back captions? I would be willing to at least handle part of it. I can't do it all myself, but if someone helps me, I think we can pull it off. So which is it? (Boy will my face be red if this was already figured out.) ![]() |
