Lord of the Rings Online

The preorder beta has been out for a day or two, and the open beta starts on the 6th.

This game is pretty fun, I wasn't expecting it to be that good, but I've been having a blast in it. The game looks pretty amazing, graphics-wise and just the design. It was developed by Turbine/Codemasters, not EA, so they couldn't use the movie rights, so they had to create stuff based on how they pictured it, and I like it a lot.

It's got a lot of cool features that you don't see in other MMO's too much, like built in voice chat for parties. Also, there's a kickass music system in it, you basically buy an instrument and when you type /music, you play it yourself, it's not automated. You play it like a MIDI keyboard, you get 3 different octaves to play with. I've figured out how to play the themes for Mario, Tetris, and some Zelda:OoT songs. But it's fun to just play around with it.

I've only been playing for like a day, so I'm still figuring out most of the stuff with the game, but the open beta will start on the 6th and it will be free, so it might be worth checking out if you're interesting in LOTR/fantasy RPG stuff. You can also preorder it for 10 bucks and get access right away.

I'm on the server Windfola, a Hobbit Burglar named Octavio.
