What is a 5-Star match to you?

All the talk of 5* matches made me think about this. How do you define a 5-star match?


Personally, I think 5-star match is match that can stand on its own and tell the whole story on its own. Great "pure wrestling" can make a good match, but it has to have a story and an emotional connectivity to it to be a "classic" or "great" match. That is why people watch wrestling. That emotional connection that gets you lost in this world known as professional wrestling. The only way to get that emotional connection is for both men in the match to "be on" and just tell a story. Terry Funk said on a DVD that wrestling is a dance...a beautiful dance. It flows and it just works and all the emotions are there.
