Calling all Australians.....

I have never seen an AFL game in my life. I have absolutely no idea how the game works, except for that the goal is to kick the ball through the posts, and the middle ones are worth more. However, I also can't stand baseball, and that's the only sport you can see here (US) this time of year. I'd really like to try and pick up AFL for the rest of this season, and possibly beyond.

Here's my problem, though. I have no geographical loyalty to any region of Australia, which makes picking a team pretty hard. Which team would you recommend I start watching? My plan is to go back a few weeks and download some older games, all the future contests, and if I can find it, the Footy Show. I'd really like this experiment to last at least part-way through the finals, so if you think your team is going to make it, sell me on them. Why should this AFL newbie pick your team to follow?
