I never, EVER thought WCW was better than WWF

I started out with WWF when I started watching wrestling, and then WCW came on right afterwards and I thought to myself "why did they change it to the bad wrestling?".

WWF even in 1997, 98, whenever they were being beaten in the raitings by WCW, WWF was so much better than WCW ever was. When WCW had the NWO storyline going strong (in 96) that was the only time I thought WCW at least equalled WWE. But especially 97, probably my favorite year for WWE product. In WCW you had clusterfuck after clusterfuck, people turning face and heel like it was nothing... while in WWE you had Bret Hart and Steve Austin tearing it up every night weather it was wrestling or promos. The Nation of Domination which was probably the best mid card stable WWE had ever come up with at that point. But most importantly, in early 97 you had the amazing feud of Undertaker and Mankind, which every match was gold. Also Triple H joining with HBK in late summer of 97 in one of my favorite matches of all time, HBK and Triple H vs Mankind and The Undertaker.

I can't think on one stellar WCW match in 97 that didn't involve Eddie Guerrero, Rey, Dean, Chris Benoit, or Jericho. And really the only one that sticks out is Eddie/Rey from Halloween Havoc. The on the good show you had, Austin Bret at WM 13 and then IYH, the whole Canadian Stampeade PPV, anytime Taker and Mankind fought, anytime Triple H and Mankind fought, anytime the Heart Foundation fought against Steve Austin, Austin/HBK 1, Austin/HBK vs LOD, LOD vs Owen and Bulldog, Taker vs HBK at Ground Zero and Badd Blood, Kane vs anyone was entertaining as hell, Owen/Austin 1 and 2...

I just don't see how anyone could have choosen WCW over WWF in 1997, fucking fantastic year for wrestling. And one of the best things about it was there were so many great matches on Raw for FREE! A lot of them I have already mentioned but how about Mic Foley vs Terry Funk, or Terry Funk vs Steve Austin on Shotgun Saturday Night?
