So I watched all of an episode of Impact (pre-Destination X)

I think this might be the first time I have done that and was expecting it to be the worst thing I've ever seen but to be honest it wasn't too bad. Anyway things that stuck out to me.

- holy crap there was a load of promotion. Maybe it was because it was before Destination X but there seemed to be a load of promtional videos for everything and everyone, even the lower card guys. Is this common, are they alway filling 3/4 of their show with videos like this?

- There's some serious Management issues. Like seriously, there is one show but they have as much management as all three WWE shows put together. You have Jeff Jarret as an owner and Jim Cornette and Mick Foley running things. I don't know what the power structure is supposed to be but if TNA were a legit business, looking in you wouldn't help but think who is actually in charge.

- Sting/Angle/Foley had some good promos

- The matches were ok not brilliant. They kind of spoiled it with their main event which was Eric Young versus one of of angle's security guys. The deal was Sting and Angle would be in the corner of guys that they picked to fight for them and Angle couldn't get someone to fight on his behalf.

- Matt Morgan and Abyss looked like it had potential but I can't help think that their match at Destination X might have had as many chokeslams as thumbtacks

- Knockouts was a bit of a cluster really and I've no idea what Billy Gunn is doing but he appears to have found a worse gimmick that Billy and Chuck.

- Another multi-tag match which was alright

- Rhyno actually looked quite weak against the guy that used to be Daivari.

Anyway the PPV card looked ok on paper but I can't help but feel that despite the endless video promos they probably didn't hype it up as much as they should have in real TV terms. They seem to have these two hours of TV time and not do anything worthwhile with it. in fact at times it felt like you were watching different episodes of TNA patched together. Anyway, I might watch the next episode in due course to see if my assessment was fair or not but damn, they seemed to have worked hard to get where they are since 2002. Now that they have everything in place that you could possibly need in a wrestling promotion, the TV show just hasn't moved on to the next level to boost them up.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on TNA, their progression over the last few years etc.
