I Hate Batista
I don't have a history on here, or in the real world, of hating anything. On the whole I try to find the best in everything. But I hate Batista.
Let me get this straight though, I don't hate Dave Batista the human being. I don't know Dave Batista the son, boyfriend, or human being, all I know and all I'm judging is Batista the wrestler, the entertainer, the and the performer. ...now what I just said is somewhat of a misnomer. You see because Batista isn't really a wrestler, he really isn't an entertainer, he's barley a superstar, and he's not exactly a performer. Batista's in ring ability is about on par with what it was back in 2002... Well not exactly. He was better in 2002, holding the cauffer for Reverend D-Von is far better in-ring activity than anything he's done in the ring this year. He's consistantly been in the main even from January 2005 until right now. That's over four and a half years in the main event scene and in that period of time he's put on about 4, maybe 5 quality matches. And he seems perfectly content with that figure. As far as being an "entertainer" is concerned he falls way short of the mark. His promos are... What's the word? Generic? Nah, Batista's promo's make generic promo look like a Mick Foley level promo of depth an neuance. Over the past seven years I've only ever been entertained by Batista much the same way I'm entrertained by watching a kid with downs syndrome trying to explain quantum physics. I think the "performer" aspect is where I really have my problem, because "performer" implies some sort of effort, which to my knowledge Batista puts little to no effort into any aspect of his job. He wrestles almost the same exact way he did in 2002, and his promos are just as bland as they were when he was just some big guy that Ric Flair managed. Say what you will about John Cena but at least Cena has tried to become a better wrestler. And John Cena at least tries to be a poor mans Rock. Batista doesn't even put forth the effort to change or evolve or improve. Where am I going with all of this? Well, I'll tell you want I'm not doing.... I'm not boycotting the WWE. I'm not wishing Batista ill. I'm not demanding he turn heel. I'm not saying this is anything more than an opinion. What I'm just simply stating is that I've been a wrestling fan for over twenty years now. And I've seen some things. I've see David Arquette become a champion, I've seen necrophilia. I've seen Gene Snitsky. I've seen Vince Russo's booking. I've seen Ultimate Warrior promos. I've seen Scott Steiner promos. I've seen Hulk Hogan as Champion for an entire year where he wrestled only about a dozen times. I've seen some pretty questionable moves in wrestling, and some down right embarassing moments in wrestling, and I've always found a way to look on the bright side of it. And of all those things I never hated any of it. But I hate Batista. |
