Cruiserweight Division is at its best...
The Cruiserweight Division is at its best when the cruiserweight champion is either weighs more than a cruiserweight or is at the maximum weight limit cut off.
An example was when Chris Jericho was the Cruiserweight Champion in WCW. I don't believe the cruiserweight division was ever hotter than it was when he was the champion. Of course that can be debated. I laughed my ass off when Jericho came out with Juvi's mask and a fake leg that was supposed to represent what he had done to Mysterio. Also, a recent example of this was when Matt Hardy was the Cruiserweight Champion in the WWE last year. The division was reconized and it was a good reason for me to tune in. Nowadays the Cruiserweight Division is kind of an after thought. No offense to Chavo, but even when Rey Jr. won the title it seemed like an after thought, IMO. It may just be the WWE's way of pushing the smaller talents that makes the title an after thought. But I have enjoyed the Cruiserweight Divsion the most when a "bigger" cruiserweight was the champion and focal point. What do you think? |
