TNA Continues To Piss People Off
"PWInsider.com's Buck Woodward reported this afternoon that
NWA-TNA is attempting to institute yet another policy for their contracted wrestlers that may well further limit their options for independent bookings. Sources inside NWA-TNA told Woodward that "the internal management team" is attempting to implement a policy that starting with shows in June, all contracted talent that is booked on a non-TNA independent show will be subjected to a 15% booking fee, payable to TNA. In addition to that, TNA is also implementing a 50% deposit for bookings to be payable to NWA-TNA, once a promoter books a talent. Woodward posted this scenario: "If a wrestler is signed to work a show for $1,000, there will be a $150 fee payable to TNA, raising the total outlay for the promoter to $1,150, & $575 will be payable the day the booking is made (even if the actual show does not take place for months down the line)." As a real life example, Woodward stated that, since Raven's standard payoff is $1,500 per indy appearance. This would mean Raven would need to get $1,725 from a promoter to net the $1,500 that he got before, or raise his fee (which he would still be losing a chunk of to TNA). Woodward's article did not state whether Japan dates were also included in this demand of TNA. If this were the case, TNA would be attempting to get money out of much larger Japanese offices with talent such as Christopher Daniels and Sonjay Dutt." WAY TO GO |
