What if the 80's WWF World Title scene was more like today's?

Today, we can get up to and past 10 title reigns for a world title in a single year. Back in the 80s (and before) you could go years without one, making title switching very special. There were only 8 different reigns and 5 different champions from 1980 to 1990. From 2000 to 2010, there have been 48 WWE Championship reigns with about 17 different champions. This isn't even counting the World Heavyweight Championship.

If the 80's title scene was more like today, with the title switching hands as often as it can today, would things have been different? Would Hogan have gotten as over as he did without holding the belt as long as he did? Would he have gotten MORE over by chasing the title? Who would have held the title? Who do you think would have been able to shine much brighter than they did in this type of enviornment? Would anyone have been worse off?

Discuss.
