Master the Music

What is mastering? Mastering is the process of transferring the recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to the data storage device or the master. Mastering is performed by the mastering engineer, who has years of experience in the field. By offering his trained ears and expertise, the mastering engineer modifies the track to make it sound technically sound. This is done by putting the track through a series of equipments that make the sound professional. These include the Compressor, Equalizer, Limiter or the Editor. The mastering engineer makes the whole process valuable. He has years of experience in the field and can do wonders to a musical track.
What exactly does a mastering engineer do? The mastering engineer does the following functions:

The overall level of volume is raised through mastering.
The song levels are made uniform and made cohesive by adding Eq.
The process of mastering is done after mixing and this would call for correcting the minor mixes. This is done by equalization.
The flow of the tracks is enhanced by changing the space between the tracks.
One of the key operations of a mastering engineer is to make your music compatible on any system. Once mastering is done, the music can be played on any medium and not just the one on which it was created.
mastering engineering is also useful in adding IRSC codes which are required for digital distribution.
The text information on CD is added. Information like the Artist, Title, Track Names and the rest.
