If Edge does not win either the World or WWE Title in 2010, he will be the first Royal Rumble winner not to win on of those same titles in the same calendar year since Steve Austin in 1997.

Ever since 1993, when they started giving the Royal Rumble winner a title shot at that year's WrestleMania, only Luger (1994), Michaels (1995), and Austin (1997) were Rumble winners that were unable to win the WWE/World Title sometime in that same year.
