The henchmen thing was dumb, but the gimmick was not "playing with dynamite" prior. The only reason it "blew up" is because they added "terrorists" to the mix....On the same day of the 7/7 bombings. There's no "too soon" in that, because terrorism doesn't go away. Ten years from now, they could try that angle and just chance upon the same day as a terrorist attack, and it'd be fucked.

Maybe the gimmick should never be done for risk of that, but it wasn't killed by 9-11 or proximity to.
