MGS4 I can understand, what with all the cut scenes and all... But it does tie the series up nicely and IMO is a masterpiece, more as a story than a game though...

Halo 2...? Pretty much kick started online console multiplayer.
Plus with an amazing community.

FFX is beautiful, favourite next to IX...
