The Mets nearly swapped Jason Bay for Heath Bell at the deadline.

Pretty glad they didn't. Bell is under contract for a year longer than Bay so it'd give them less financial flexibility going forward.

Bay will be released before next year starts though. No doubt about it. I kept holding out hope that MAYBE he'd figure it out, but he just simply doesn't have talent anymore.
