The NFL seems to get on fine without the Cowboys, Raiders etc being any good. The media always find a way to hype things to the sky anyway.
I agree 100% that the NFL doesn't need either of those teams to be good. It was really just nostalgia for me since my first real memory as an NFL fan was at 8 years old driving to downtown Atlanta with my family and seeing all the hype surrounding that Cowboys/ Bills Superbowl.

However, the crowd reactions those two teams drew when it was their turn to pick still shows they resonate, whether you love them or love to hate them and teams like that are always good for the league.
