Microsoft reveals a new feature for the Xbox One (and Xbox 360) called the “Season Pass Guarantee" which basically allows passes from the Xbox 360 to be transferable to the Xbox One.

Call of Duty Ghosts and Battlefield 4 will be the first games to use this feature.

Microsoft has scaled back the European launch for the Xbox One which drops from 21 countries to now just 13 countries will have the console available at launch. Localization and language issues were given as the main reason for the delay.

According to Microsoft, the Xbox One has the ability to regulate power consumption to prevent overheating and other issues that plagued early versions of the Xbox 360.
Quote:
“One thing that we have more flexibility with the architecture of the Xbox One, is that we can dial back the power of the box considerably,” del Castillo told Gizmodo. ”We had a little less flexibility with the 360. And so basically, if we couldn’t dissipate the heat, there wasn’t a whole lot of leverage we could pull to keep the heat from being generated, so we had a limited amount of time before it just shut down. Xbox One can actually dial it back to a lower power state, so low in fact that it can in a mode that uses virtually no air flow.”

The Xbox One is designed so that the fan won’t reach max speed ”under normal environmental conditions.” This allows the console an overhead to cool itself down, solving ”the condition without the user having to do anything.”
