100 Man Protagonist Tournament

I liked the tournament for the best game, but it didn't really have that "fight" feel to it. IE, if Goldeneye was up against Tombraider or something, I couldn't help but imagine two gameboxes smashing into each other. So I was thinking we could start a tournament for the protagonists of the games.

In a nutshell, just list off the main character of a game and the name of the game he or she is in.

There'd have to be some rules of course....

1: Protagonists only. It'd suck if some troll ruined everything by sneaking in "Da finl bOSs uv FF8 haz 8 formz + nothin kan BEEET HER! BANG SHE WINZ!"

2: No characters from movies or tv shows. This is because they can have their own tournaments in other forums, and dammit, if Spiderman can't beat Hannibal Lecter, he sure as hell can't beat Mario. Besides, most (not all...but most) games based on movies suck anyway. The rule applies to sports games as well. Fictional Characters only.

3: Lives can be taken into account when considering whom to vote for, but nobody gets more than one chance. So when Leon from Resident Evil 2 fights Mario, you could assume that Mario would have more chances because he can have multiple lives, while Leon only has one life, but if Mario loses, you can't say he got a 1 up before he died and he gets a second chance. Pretty simple, yes, but I'm catering to the newbies out there who might be dumb.

4: If a character has multiple games, assume that the character has all of the attributes of every game. In the case of Tanner from the Driver series, he can indeed get out of his car if he needs to, because he was capable of doing so in his latest two games.

5: Some special cases will arise. Particularly Megaman or Pokemon, these cases will be dealt with individually. One can assume that Megaman can absorb the attributes of his enemies for limited use after a battle, but Ash cannot capture Sonic the Hedgehog in a pokeball.

6: Try to keep it to one character from a game. Exceptions will be made, particularly with fighting games (IE: Using both Jonny Cage and Scorpion from the MK series, etc.) This is to keep two similar characters from dominating the tournament, like Mario and Luigi.

If you could, go ahead and list off some of your favorite major videogame characters. I'll take the 100 most commonly known ones (that way people will have a better chance of familiarity with both characters.)

I can maintain the tournament, but if there's a lack of interest I'll scrap the idea immediately.
