Alien vs Predator

Saw the movie and don't worry people; the explosion in the trailors is NOT the end of the movie, though it was a kick-ass scene.

AvP is fair in that both core fans will have to get used to some changes to their 'creature'. Minor spoilor warning here; the Predators are damn near the size of Big Show and they obviously bought their gear from the "Bigger is Better" store. All their stuff are like twice the size of what you've seen before. And the popular shoulder cannon doesn't make a single shot until well into the movie. Other than that, Predator fans are going to love one particular one by the end of the movie, and not because of a certain kick-ass move executed to the Alien Queen. Predator fans be warned, this isn't the gore fest of past stuff. Same goes to Alien fans. And speaking of Aliens...

Fans of Aliens will do nothing but love these bastards. They're far more deadly than past incarnations, and being the underdog in many school yard AvP discussions, you'd be shocked at how much of a challenge they are to pumped up weapon laced Predators. The first battle scene is a slap in the face for all Predator fans and a kiss in the ass for the Alien camp to put it bluntly.

For the six people actually rooting for the humans, please take the tagline very seriously. We die left and right; except for the cliche surviving chick.

As far as the 'Versus' movie genra is going, now two films in, you can see certain rules being set in place. As with Freddy vs Jason, both back histories are explored. The Alien should be taken with a grain of salt or pure genious: This film takes place in 2004, whereas the first Alien took place in the future; making this situation the first encounter between man and Xenomorph. Which could be used to explain how Weyland interprises even knew of it's existance going into the plot of the first movie. Lucky tie-in or genious plot connector; it's up to you. We see alot of how the Predators ran things, and as it turns out, they been around for a while.

AvP is a cool fun summer film, nuff said. Don't compare it past stuff, it's obviously making exceptable changes to make the worlds fit. No Arnold, no Danny, and no Sigorney. This movie put live action to alot of fan's imaginations just as Freddy vs Jason did, and I like it. BTW, don't leave until it's over-over; many people in my theater missed a special appearance by what some have already dubbed, the Predalien. Cute lil thing.
