Let's talk about TNA for a moment.
Even though WWE is clearly running on fumes, and basically is for the most part, the only show in town...TNA seems to be getting more and more exposure by the day.
Now, while it's clearly a breath of fresh air, and I've been watching it week after week on FSN... ...there's a couple things I do have to ask about this wrestling program. W(hy)TF is Jeff Jarrett still NWA/TNA champ? There are a few interesting feuds, but are they going anywhere? Everything seems so frantic. In the Jarrett case...this might be a really bad case of nepotism, but man...I really, really did like him in WCW and bought him as a maineventer. In TNA, the guy just sucks. He's worse than any spotlight-hogging champ in recent memory (Hogan, HHH, et al)...and is quickly earning the title of the X-Pac of Main Eventers 2004. His entrance music even sucks...brings (not-so-)fond memories of Sid (the reigning X-Pac Champ)'s WWE theme music. Problem is...who would be the one to take his place? AJ Styles seems like a great choice. D'Lo? "The Truth" (though, I hear he's had the title once or twice before)? Jeff Hardy (EH-EHHHHHH...)? Monty Brown? Who do more in-depth TNA followers think should take "The King Of The Mountain" off his throne? |
