"The Rise and Fall of ECW"
I know people have come on here with their opinons of the DVD quite a lot but I finally bought it so now it's my turn.
Firstly, I thought it was pretty entertaining and insightful to somebody that never really watched it. However, I think it could've been better. I wanting to see or at least hear about some of the crazier stuff. I didn't see much barbed wire, no cage matches, no balcony dives, no scaffolding matches. I would've liked to hear at least the concept behind some of those such as scaffolding matches or the stairway to hell (whatever it was called). I got pretty tired of seeing tables breaking and lack of ring psychology. I mean, a dude gets thrown through a table and two seconds later is doing a suicide half gainer dive onto his opponent. I mean, wtf. I'm also a little disappointed that I didn't see any Brian Pillman stuff. I"m not sure how big of a role he played but I read about him showing up being a huge thing. It would've been nice to see. Finally, I'm pretty disappointed in the matches they did show. 2 Cold Scorpio VS Sabu kinda sucked. Scorpio sucked to be exact, he didn't seem to know what he was doing. Rey Mysterio Vs Psycosis was good but I'm sure there were better matches to choose from. So all in all I give the dvd a B+ |
