Here is my plan for the WWE main event picture from Summerslam to Wrestlemania 22(this assumes that some wrestlers not currently signed...well just lesnar actually is a part of WWE):

Summerslam:

Batista practically destroys JBL
Randy Orton pins Undertaker
Cena goes over Jericho w/ a Dusty DQ Finish
Kane mysteriously stays off WWE TV until October

Coming into September Raw has a brand specific PPV. Cena and Jericho have a re-match w/ a gimmick stipulation(preferably a cage) and Cena wins.
Meanwhile on Smackdown, Batista has a few title matches and defeats Christian, OJ, and Eddie Guerrero.

Going into No Mercy Theodore Long holds an 8 man tournament on Smackdown that culminates in a Rey Mysterio v Chris Beniot finale. Beniot wins and is slated to face Batista at the PPV. At No Mercy Batista and Beniot have a grueling match but Batista comes out on top. While celebrating the lights go out, Kane's music hits and he attacks batista and lays him out.
On SD! Teddy Long creates some weird explanation for how Kane can come to Smackdown.

Meanwhile on Raw HHH returns and sets his sights on John Cena.

Survivor Series:
WWE Title Match: HHH v John Cena- HHH regains the title from Cena rightfully ending his reign

World Heavyweight Title match: Batista v Kane- In a scene taken from the 1991 Survivor Series, Kane defeats Batista after a tombstone piledriver onto a chair.

Leading up to the Rumble, HHH will defend his title against Edge who uses his Money in the Bank shot at the Rumble. On Smackdown there will be the obvious Kane Batista rematch. teddy long also announces that he has a suprise entrant as #30.

Royal Rumble:
HHH defeats Edge in their WWE Chmpionship match
Batista is on his way to beating Kane when brock Lesnar interferes and costs Batista the match.
Lesnar is revealed to be the 30 entrant to the Rumble.

Fast Forward to the end of the Rumble match. the last two men in the Rumble are a returning lesnar and a returning RVD. Batista appears and costs Lesnar the Rumble. So your winner of the 2006 Royal Rumble is....RVD.

So RVD will challenge HHH at the Rumble and Lesnar will face Batista.
In order to find Kane an challenger Teddy Long holds a 1 night tourney at No Way Out which Randy Orton wins.
