It's because you're looking at them with nostalgia (sp?). I watch old nickelodeon shows all the time and enjoy the shit out of them. But a lot of the enjoyment is simply remembering what it was like to come home from school and watch Salute Your Shorts while ignoring your homework. Same goes with wrestling DVD's. Not only am I enjoying Bret Hart versus Shawn Michaels, but I'm also enjoying the memory of me marking out the first time I saw it. If I didn't have the memory, I might still enjoy the match, but not at the same level that I do now.
