By your logic, the only reason why the Bengals are undefeated is because they beat teams with losing records. Does that mean that the Bengals are winning because they are beating teams that are bad? Not necessarily, since you only have three games to go by at this moment. |

Let's compromise: as of week three, the NFC and AFC are equal in talent and potential.

The current overall records really have nothing to do with that argument though, so I really don't know what your point was.
Good job predicting the outcome though I guess |

Thank God for that Broncos win. Now maybe we'll hear the end of the whining from Patriots fans. Broncos > Pats

Yeah Broncos have had the Patriots number for a while now. So annoying since I cannot stand the Broncos.
DJ Williams tried to lay out Ben Watson and had to get taken off the field. Ben Watson destories Denver players for some reason, too bad the Pats don't have 11 Ben Watsons

Ben Watson is a freak. They had Champ covering him alot. That shows the respect they have for Watson.

Outlaw, it is completely relevant to say that Daunte Culpepper is still a talented quarterback THIS YEAR when he was nearly the MVP two years ago, because he is in his prime age. When I made the post I was still optimistic that he will return to form, but if he is this injured/immobile all season, then he won't be up there. My post was banking on him being healthy.
About the Bears/Vikings game, I really think the Vikings should have won. Grossman's interception was just awful, but it all came down to that final Bears drive and they dominated the Vikings defense when it really mattered. I think they are about equal teams, but the fact that the Bears have some recievers, Mohammad and the tight end guy, will give them the division. Hopefully the Vikes can win 9 or so and get into the playoffs. |

It was either that or put in the backup rookie from Toledo. I'd take dying Simms too.

Also, in a way, teams ARE equal at the beginning of each season.
Everything prior to the season is just speculation that people contrive from looking at free agent pickups etc etc. Sure, the Raiders are horseshit, but there was no way you could have said that with validity before you even saw them play. Take Minnesota and Chicago last year as examples. Everyone believed that the Vikings were a Super Bowl contender and the Bears were destined to be the worse team in the NFL, based before even seeing them play. The fact of the matter is that some teams overperform and the rest underperform to their hype, and there is no way you can determine which team falls into what category at this period of the season. |

One team makes it from the NFC just like ONE team makes it from the AFC..
Do you guys want a cookie because it'll be harder for your team to make it to the Super Bowl than a team in the NFC?? |

You guys are just going off the notion that Indianapolis, New England, Denver, Pittsburgh, etc have been great in the past, therefore will be great in the future as well.
If football was like this then the Super Bowl would have been Green Bay vs. Kansas City forty times in a row. |

FUCKING ASS MADDEN CURSE
![]() http://nfl.com/teams/story/SEA/9684902 KIRKLAND, Wash. (Sept. 25, 2006) -- League MVP Shaun Alexander has a broken left foot and will be lost to the Seattle Seahawks for at least a couple of weeks. Coach Mike Holmgren said that a bone scan revealed Alexander sustained a "small crack" and "displaced fracture" on a non-weight-bearing bone in his foot sometime during the Seahawks' 42-30 win over the New York Giants. Alexander ran for 47 yards on 20 carries before sitting out the fourth quarter, which began with Seattle leading 42-3. The coach said last season's NFL rushing leader was on crutches inside team headquarters Sept. 25. "You lose the MVP for a while, it's a hit," Holmgren said. "Let's face it, he's the MVP. We're not going to sugarcoat it." Alexander missed practices last Sept. 20-21 because of soreness from a bone bruise he sustained while rushing for 51 yards on 19 carries in the Sept. 10 season opener at Detroit. Holmgren said that bone bruise led to the small crack. Alexander will miss at least the Oct. 1 showdown at Chicago, which is also 3-0. Seattle has its bye the following week before playing at division rival St. Louis on Oct. 15. "I don't think it will be lengthy," Holmgren said. "He just has to stay off of it and let it heal." Holmgren said he could not yet specify how long last season's league rushing champion would be out. "We're looking at a few weeks, let's put it that way," Holmgren said. "The good thing is, it's just a small, little crack -- if you want to talk about a good thing." Alexander has started 69 of the last 70 games for the Seahawks. His only absence in that span was a 2002 start that he missed to help with the birth of his first daughter. He entered that game in the second quarter. Last season, Alexander rushed for 1,880 yards and 27 touchdowns. He has just 187 yards and an average of 2.9 yards per carry through three games. His career average is 4.5 yards per rush. He has gained fewer than 100 yards in each of Seattle's three games this season, his first such streak in two years. Against New York, the Seahawks welcomed former Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch by featuring four-wide receiver formations, and Matt Hasselbeck threw a franchise record-tying five touchdown passes. Maurice Morris will make his fourth career start for Alexander against the Bears. Morris rushed 15 times for 18 yards against the Giants. "You have only one way to go," Holmgren said. "Just plug someone in and go." |

It's not even an argument. The AFC is much better then the NFC. It's not about wanting a cookie. Its about correcting posters who claim NFC is better. It just isnt. I have no rooting intrest in anyone in the AFC or NFC besides the Colts. It's just a fact. AFC had crushed the NFC in the past 4 years.
