The next PPV is King of the Ring. Here the brackets for this year's tournament which is scheduled to kick off this week on Superstars.
![]() The finals of the tournament, as always, will take place at the PPV where the winner will headline SummerSlam against their brand's champion. The only other scheduled match for right now is HHH vs. Edge for HHH's WWE Title after Edge won a battle royal on Raw after Night of Champions. |

*marks out for Charlie Haas US Title win and KOTR*
I kinda wanted to bring back KOTR in my game, but I had JUST finished up a standard tourney so I went with the WWE World Cup instead |

I always love doing King of the Ring every year. It gives me a ton of potential storyline possibilities and it's always challenging to pick out a different winner every year. I don't think I ever had a repeat winner. Plus I get to play around with this kick ass KOTR graphic. It's win-win all around!

Oh, and the Charlie Haas thing was a last minute thing. Evan Bourne was supposed to win the title during the feud but when I realized that I had drafted Haas and he was going to be ready go in the month of June I figured I'd pull out a curve ball and go with the whole 'title vacated' story. Now Ted has a fresh face to work with, Haas is an instant player on Raw, and Evan Bourne....uh....he.... I guess I didn't think this out too well. Eh, he can used in a story that's going to shape one of SummerSlam's matches. It's gonna be awesome. Stay tuned!!!

Conversely, I was thinking Yoshi Tatsu cause he's the only one not gold (with Jericho and Barrett having titles)

Well, the first round of the tournament is complete. Let's have a looksie at where everyone stands:
![]() Sean Criss and Scott Blackmore battled to a time limit draw. On the following Raw, John Morrison made his return right before the match between Miz and Shelton Benjamin to chase off Miz in an attempt to get revenge for the assaults that cost him the WWE Title and a concussion respectively. Miz runs off and even drives away. The referee declares Benjamin the winner by forfeit and thus advances. However, Chris Sylvain comes out. He points out that he doesn't have a quarter-final opponent and thus is automatically in the semi-finals. Since he and Shelton are scheduled to face each other anyway and since Benjamin is still fresh and ready to go, Sylvain suggests having the match right then and there. This leads to a Chris Sylvain victory and thus he is in the finals of the tournament. Other proceedings: Victoria is happy she's the Diva's champion but points out that the Victoria of old wouldn't have needed so many chances to win the title off a tramp like Kim Roderick. She contemplates retirement but Roderick comes out to claim that Victoria's not getting off that easy and demands her rematch at a time and place of her own choosing. Ted DiBiase beats Evan Bourne in a U.S. Title number one contendership match. DiBiase will face Charlie Haas at the KOTR PPV. Bourne had already talked about what went down at Night of Champions with Steve Austin and wonders if Austin thinks the roster is just there for his amusement. DiBiase is also cheesed at Austin and declares him unfit to be the GM. Edge beats Randy Orton in a hardcore match to gain momentum. AJ Styles is happy to hear that he'll be getting his title shot at King of the Ring. He is not happy when Jason Collins tries to beat the living piss out of him after his match on SmackDown!. Jack Swagger attacks Batista during his match with Kane in retaliation to being humiliated by the Animal the previous week. The teams of Mark Mason & Alex Furious and Garrett & Sean O'Haire battle to a draw and continue to cause anarchy. The Rock has a major announcement regarding the two teams next week. The Rock has vowed to place security at ringside for all of Kofi Kingston's matches as a measure against the mysterious individual who has it in for Kofi. Ian Moore still proclaims innocence and has vowed to let what happened at Night of Champions slide. He's still owed a rematch against Cash Stevens for the Intercontinental Title and demands it at King of the Ring. Kofi in the meantime is suspicious of Shawn Michaels who is in the corner of Rhodes during their first round match. Punk and MVP continue their feud. Here's the updated King of the Ring card: WWE Title: HHH (c) vs. Edge World Heavyweight Title: Kane (c) vs. AJ Styles King of the Ring Finals: Chris Sylvain vs. ??? WWE U.S. Title: Charlie Haas (c) vs. Ted DiBiase WWE Intercontinental Title: Cash Stevens (c) vs. Ian Moore John Morrison vs. The Miz Who will join Sylvain in the KOTR Finals? What does the Rock have in store for the cruiserweights vs. heavyweights feud? Who else is upset with the way Austin has been running things on Raw? Will security be enough to help keep both Kofi's stalker at bay AND keep Kofi's violent attacks to a minimum? STAY TUNED!!! |

JANUARY 17, 2005 - MONDAY NIGHT RAW
“I'm ba-ack!” The show kicks off with WWE Chairman Eric Bischoff making his way to the ring. We're six weeks away from Superbrawl, and we've already got a handful of matches booked. Tonight's main event will feature the eight men who've already punched their tickets as World Champion Rhyno will team with WWE Champion The Rock, Intercontinental Champion John Cena, and Eddie Guerrero to take on their respective Superbrawl opponents Chris Jericho, Christian, Tajiri, and Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy Version 2.0. And, just because he feels like shaking things up as the Road to WrestleMania 21 rolls on... whoever takes the fall tonight is out of the Elite! Bah Gawd, Steve! Can you believe it?!? Since joining the Natural Born Ministry, Haas has seemingly turned his career around. Betraying his longtime friend and partner Shelton Benjamin has given him new life, including a spot in the final four of the Royal Rumble eight days ago. Tonight, he teams with his new mentor Sean O'Haire to take on Benjamin and a man who knows a thing or two about O'Haire... A-Train! Decent tag match with all four guys getting in their spots. Eventually, though, O'Haire gets the better of Benjamin with the Prophecy to pick up the win. Afterwards, both teams brawl into the crowd and this is clearly far from over! Chris Benoit is backstage, and he's holding his Money In The Bank briefcase that he won at King of the Ring last June. He talks about waiting. He's sat on this title opportunity for more than half a year, and he's prepared to sit and wait even longer. Because he's gone his entire career hearing people say that he'd never make it to that “next level.” He was too small to fight with the heavyweights. He was too big to fight the cruisers. He was too technical to catch on in WWE. But he outlasted 31 of the top superstars in the company (including a win in the finals against the current WWE Champion) last summer, and soon, very soon, he's going to cash in and do what everyone knew he never would. Because it took Eric Bischoff believing in him and making him a charter member of the Elite to light this fire under him, but soon enough he'll have no choice but to start building the entire company in his image. And he can't wait to prove. You. Wrong. Last week, Paul London's RAW debut was interrupted by the Ministry's rookie monster Damien, who was thrilled to have some “new meat.” Tonight, they go one-on-one, and the winner will be the #1 contender for the United States Title! London looks good in his first official RAW match, but he eventually – like so many others before him – falls victim to Damien's brutal chokeslam. Eric Bischoff appears on the TitanTron and announces that Damien has earned himself a date with U.S. Champion Rey Mysterio at Superbrawl! Damien flashes a demonic grin. He just devoured one cruiserweight, and in six weeks, he gets a shot at another! Two of the hardest-hitting superstars in WWE go at it next as Rob Van Dam takes on Brock Lesnar, and they don't disappoint! RVD gets a hot nearfall after a frankensteiner off the top rope. Lesnar gets one after a sick jumping powerbomb. Eventually, RVD goes for one of his back kicks, but Lesnar ducks it and rolls him up... grabbing a handful of tights! The ref misses the tights and awards Lesnar the cheap pinfall victory! RVD jumps Lesnar after the bell for a measure of revenge and drives him to the ramp. RVD asks for the ringside mic, and he tells Lesnar that if he wants to try to prove that he's still in that upper tier by making an example of somebody, he picked the wrong guy. What do you say we do this again at Superbrawl? Lesnar accepts, and we've got another big match! We heard from Chris Benoit earlier, and he's in action next against Rey Mysterio (who we now know will face Damien at Superbrawl). Fantastic match with lots of high-flying and high-impact offense. Unfortunately, the ending is marred by the interference of Matt Hardy Version 2.0, who blasts Mysterio with a steel chair, resulting in a disqualification. After the match, the two heel Elite members go to work on Rey! Eddie Guerrero is backstage, and he cuts a promo about Tajiri. Tajiri did a number on him last week on RAW, and their issue is clearly far from over. Eddie may not be 100%, but he's excited to be in the same ring as Tajiri tonight and to get a little measure of revenge! Back from break, Vitamin C are already in the ring for our main event, and they cut a promo on their main-event opponents. Mostly comedy stuff, but these guys are both gold on the mic, and they sell their respective feuds and the match itself. The main event is, as you would probably expect, a little bit of a clusterfuck trying to build up the respective matches for Superbrawl. Cena got his hands on Tajiri, Eddie brawled with Hardy, and Rhyno and The Rock both got their hands on Jericho, though Christian managed to elude The Rock. Nobody wanted to give up their slot in the Elite (and, with it, the right to appear on both RAW and SmackDown!), which led to some unusual teamwork. Eventually, though, The Rock managed to get himself alone in the ring with the Cruiserweight Champion, and drove Matt Hardy Version 2.0 out of the Elite with the Rock Bottom! |

WWE Superstars – July 29, 2010
Some SmackDown action kick us off as “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters takes on David “A-List” Otunga. Pretty much a shitty match that sees Otunga pick up the win with his dangerous (quite literally) Spinebuster. Shad Gaspard climbs into the ring afterward and hits Masters with a Big Boot for good measure. The Raw Divas are in action next as the ever-annoying Jillian Hall squares off with Divas champion Natalya. Pretty good by divas standards as Natalya shows everybody why she is the champ. Jillian taps out to a Sharpshooter. Back over to SmackDown as we have a special double main event tonight on Superstars! We had a tag team match pitting Dolph Ziggler and “The Uncommon Man” Cody Rhodes facing Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio. Throughout the match we were reminded on commentary that on next week’s SmackDown, each man will fight their tag partner tonight in matches to determine the final man to advance from their respective groups. Really good tag action here sees Ziggler pull Rey out of the ring as he attempted a 619, as Rhodes capitalizes with a Cross Rhodes on Hardy for the win. “The Long Island Loudmouth” Zack Ryder waited in the ring. His opponent was none other than John Cena, making a rare Superstars appearance (which later confused the fans when Cena cut a video promo saying he wasn’t at the arena during Raw) ![]() |

WWE SmackDown – July 30, 2010
Our opening contest was supposed to be a World Cup Group A match between Drew McIntyre and Vance Archer, but McIntyre opted to forfeit, citing that it was a pointless match and he needed his energy for the Round of 16. As such, Drew finishes Group Play at 2-1 and Archer at 1-2. Theodore Long comes out and tells Drew that he didn’t wrestle last week and he’s not getting another night off. He’s found a different opponent – Christian! And that match will be right now. McIntyre protested, still in his street clothes. Nevertheless, the match went on as Christian teed off on the unprepared McIntyre. Christian finished it off with a Killswitch and a clean pin of the Intercontinental champion. The Straight Edge Society was out next. CM Punk said that the group had 3 matches tonight, and they would show the entire world why straight edge means they’re better than you. Serena’s match was up first as she made her in-ring debut against Kelly Kelly. Serena’s training seems to have paid off as she has a good showing and pins Kelly following a fireman’s carry gutbuster. Women’s champion Beth Phoenix gave Serena a nod from the rampway, Serena made good on her promise last week that she’d be gunning for the title. Group C action as two guys who have already been mathematically eliminated fight for respect in MVP and Chavo Guerrero. Good little match that sees MVP grab the win with the Playmaker and get in the win column, finishing 1-2. Chavo goes 0-3. Tag team action as Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury face off against Darren Young and Percy Watson, the South Beach Boys. The new team show some impressive athleticism before the Straight Edge disciples ground them. Young is knocked to the outside as Gallows holds back Watson. Watson ducks, causing Mercury to dropkick Gallows in the teeth and send him to the outside. Watson connects with a floatover DDT to Mercury for the win. Group D next as Finlay tries to salvage a victory against Bryan Danielson. Fucking awesome match here, really all that needs to be said. Crowd reaction is only 64% though despite both guys having overness in the 80s. I knew heel vs. heel matches always bombed, but never before have I noticed face vs. face bombing too. Damn. Anyway, Danielson stays on a roll by making Finlay tap to the Cattle Mutilation as he goes 3-0 in his group. Despite three valiant efforts, Finlay has an 0-3 record to show for it. Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler get into a slight debate backstage over who will win the final Group D spot between them next week. Big Show shows up and gets in Cody’s face, saying he used cheap tactics to beat him on Superstars last week. Rhodes and Ziggler, despite being opponents next week, shockingly gang up on Big Show and leave him laying backstage. Both guys run away before Show can recover. Group B action as Kofi Kingston and CM Punk meet, both men having already clinched spots in the Round of 16. Another very good back and forth match that the crowd enjoys. Gallows and Mercury run out to try and repent for their earlier loss. Christian and Bryan Danielson, also Round of 16 participants, run out and thwart the Society’s attempts to get involved. The chaos on the outside distracts Punk, who walks into a Trouble in Paradise. Kingston goes 3-0 while Punk finishes at 2-1. Throughout the night, it was said that Jack Swagger had a major announcement. Swagger calls out Kane. Swagger did a lot of thinking about how Kane challenged him to exercise his rematch clause, well he’s gonna finally do it….at SummerSlam! Kane simply laughs all evil-like again before the stage erupts into flames! Kane turns around surprised as Swagger snatches the World Heavyweight Title from out of Kane’s hand and he blasts Kane in the face with it. Swagger stands above Kane and holds the title aloft, a sight we may very well see again come SummerSlam. |

I've decided to shorten my shows up and put my own recaps in instead of matches. This had to happen because I have major plans in 2 different feuds after Oblivion and what I have planned will come across as lame as hell with how the game writes it for you.

King of the Ring 2014 Results!!!
Charlie Haas defeated Ted DiBiase to retain the WWE U.S. Title. Ian Moore defeated Cash Stevens to win the WWE Intercontinental Title for the third time. Cash Inc. defeated Sean O'Haire & Garrett and Mark Mason & Alex Furious in a triple threat tag team match to retain the WWE Unified Tag Team Titles. Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and Jack Swagger defeated Shawn Michaels, MVP, and Batista when Rhodes pinned Michaels. Chris Sylvain defeated Kofi Kingston to win the 2014 King of the Ring tournament after the Hooded Stranger interfered. This gives indication that Sylvain flat out lied when he 'confessed' to being the one responsible for Kingston's misery. HHH defeated Edge to retain the WWE Title. Jason Collins defeated AJ Styles and Kane to win the World Heavyweight Title for the fourth time. Overall rating: 91 Here's the entire tournament: ![]() Onto SummerSlam!!! |

WWE Raw – August 2, 2010
World Cup Group B action kicks us off tonight as Zack Ryder takes on Tyson Kidd. This bout is highly competitive and gets the crowd going. Ryder grabs the win following a Zack Attack. Kidd finishes group play at 0-3, while Ryder goes 2-1. Shawn Michaels announces that since three Group B participants finished with 2-1 records, we’d have a triple threat match right now, with the superstar taking the fall or submitting not advancing to the Round of 16. Zack Ryder can’t believe he has to wrestle another match right away, especially against two great talents like Evan Bourne and John Morrison. This was a really fun, fast-paced match with plenty of nearfalls. Bourne shoves Morrison off the top to the outside before climbing the top rope himself. As the ref goes to check up on Morrison, Primo runs out and crotches Bourne on the top turnbuckle. Zack Ryder capitalizes with a top-rope Zack Attack. Against all odds, Ryder had won back-to-back matches. Ryder and Morrison advance to the Round of 16. Group A wraps up as Goldust goes up against Chris Jericho. Good match from these two as per usual. Goldust nearly gets the huge upset but Jericho powers out and connects with a Codebreaker soon thereafter to advance. Jericho finishes group play at 2-0-1 while Goldust goes 1-2. The Miz is looking to make an impact when the Round of 16 starts next week, but he had the chance to make an even bigger impact tonight against John Cena. Much like the previous match, The Miz had people think that the huge upset was going to happen, but it was not to be. Miz puts on a great showing, but still submits to the STF. After the match, Cena reminded everybody of his ongoing quest to run through the roster until he proves himself worthy of another title shot. Group D wraps up with a match between David Hart Smith (accompanied by Tyson Kidd and Natalya) and William Regal (accompanied by Vladimir Kozlov). This was a very good technical match throughout the duration. Kozlov, Regal’s associate, started attacking Tyson Kidd. This distracted Smith, who got rolled up by Regal (who then hooked the tights). That’s the second time Smith has lost in this fashion. Nevertheless, Regal finishes group play at 2-1 to advance to the Round of 16, while Smith finishes at 1-2. The 8th and final Raw participant in the Round of 16 was up for grabs in a Group C match between R-Truth and Justin Gabriel. Another good match, continuing a promising trend. Truth picks up the victory, albeit unknowingly benefitting from interference from the man who last week helped attack Gabriel on behalf of Primo. Truth advances at 2-1 while Gabriel goes 1-2. A brawl breaks out between Gabriel, Evan Bourne, Primo, and his associate. Edge was thrilled to see that Shawn Michaels had booked another Triple H vs. Sheamus match for tonight, but his optimism went away when he was told he would be facing Randy Orton next week. He let his displeasure show as he interfered (a common theme tonight) in the main event, sufficiently distracting Triple H. Triple H then walked right into a Brogue Kick as Sheamus picks up a huge win, getting revenge for his PPV loss. Sheamus takes off and Edge laughs at ringside. However, Randy Orton comes from behind and throws Edge into the ring. Edge eats a Pedigree as Triple H gets some revenge on Edge for costing him the match. Orton stands over the downed Edge and teases a MITB cash-in. He starts lining up for a punt but Edge spots it and manages to escape. Orton and Triple H pose on the turnbuckles to end the show. |

WWE NXT – August 3, 2010
Tonight would be a big night on NXT, as all 8 rookies would compete in one-on-one action throughout the night. After all was said and done – we’d have our first rookie challenge – the Talk the Talk challenge! Whoever wins it will get a match against the WWE Pro of their choice next week. The undefeated Eli Cottonwood started us off against the winless Joe Hennig. Despite being outmatched size-wise, Hennig continued his trend of putting on a great performance and nearly scoring the upset. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as a Chokeslam sealed his fate, sending Cottonwood to 4-0 while Hennig went to 0-4. Last week, Alex Riley sucker-punched Johnny Prime. Tonight was Prime’s chance for revenge as the two squared off. After a good athletic contest, Jack Swagger attempts to distract Prime. Finlay keeps him at bay while sliding a shillelagh into the ring. Prime connects with a shillelagh shot and grabs his first NXT win while heel Michael Cole bitches at ringside that A-Ri got screwed even though his pro started it. Prime and Riley both have 1-2 records. Titus O’Neill continues to impress in his match against Donny Marlow. After a decent enough brawl, O’Neill grabs the victory with a unique spinebuster bomb. After the match, Sheamus connects with a Brogue Kick to Marlow. Sheamus is coaching his rookie straight to the top! O’Neill’s record is now 3-1 while Marlow falls to 0-4. Much like the opening contest, our main event pits an undefeated guy (Kaval) against a guy looking for his first win (Drake Brewer). The two mismatched rookie/pro pairings come into play. Kaval appears to have Brewer finished off, but Ted DiBiase instructs him that rather than use his own moves, Kaval should learn from the best and use DiBiase’s moves. The two get into a shouting match as Goldust talks to his rookie on the other side of the ring. Brewer’s had enough of it and in a unique spot he throws Goldust over the ropes into the ring and uses him as a battering ram against Kaval, all while the ref was preoccupied with DiBiase. Brewer gets a quick roll-up on the stunned Kaval to get into the win column at 1-2. Kaval tastes defeat for the first time and goes to 3-1. The Talk the Talk challenge is quite entertaining in a weird sort of way. The eight rookies discussed the most random topics, and in the end Kaval and Joe Hennig get the most fanfare. They hold a tiebreaker round. Kaval gets a decent response with his subject of masking tape, saying he’d like to tape DiBiase’s mouth shut. Hennig gets the topic of gum. Rather than say anything, Hennig heads to the top rope and executes his dad’s patented “gum spit and swat” move to perfection. That gets a huge ovation, enough to give him the win. With the first Pro’s Poll coming at the end of next week’s show, Hennig says he needs to make an impression. So as for the WWE Pro he’s going to face next week, he wants a re-match with Jack Swagger! That’s gonna be awesome. Swagger laughs it off and shakes his head while Hennig sports a cool and collected grin to end the show. |

People are using programs like EWR or TEW (one of many versions) to manage their own promotion for ratings and things competing against other promotions.

Update time:
Stuff leading to SummerSlam Edge challenges Randy Orton to a feud-ending match after the Viper mocks him for his loss against HHH at King of the Ring. Orton gets to pick the stipulation otherwise it's no dice. He settles on an I Quit Match. Both men vow to walk out the better man at SummerSlam. Evan Bourne's additional testimony against the reign of Steve Austin as GM gives Ted DiBiase enough backing to present his case to the Board of Directors. Austin challenges him to be a man about things. DiBiase, insulted, challenges Austin to a match at SummerSlam. Austin denies the request and walks away. However, over on SmackDown!, the continued unrest of the SmackDown! locker room over the Rock's lack of control over the Kofi Kingston situation along with the Rock forcing Cody Rhodes into another confrontation with Shawn Michaels (where Michaels is hospitalized), inspires Rhodes and DiBiase to trick both Austin AND the Rock in the ring on Raw where the two Legacy teammates decimate the two general managers and challenge them both two a tag match at SummerSlam. The Board of Directors makes the match official naming it the Three Wishes Match. If Rhodes and DiBiase win, they are each allowed to make three demands from their respective GMs that cannot be refused under penalty of termination. If Austin and Rock win, they are allowed three decisions each that cannot be rebuked by the Board or challenged by Rhodes and DiBiase. Mr. Kennedy wants to form an alliance with Shelton Benjamin believing the two share a bond as two great former champions who constantly get shafted. Benjamin rebukes him under the belief that he got to the top without someone attached to his hip. The two agree to settle things at SummerSlam. John Morrison wants The Miz in the worst way even after practically destroying the Awesome One at King of the Ring. Miz agrees to a rematch but only under the condition that Morrison is fired if he goes off the deep end again and gets DQ'ed. Chris Sylvain's victory at King of the Ring allows him to challenge HHH for the WWE Title at SummerSlam. He claims he only confessed to being behind Kofi's mishaps because he was asked to by the real anonymous mastermind. The two made a deal; Sylvain would confess in order to get the security removed from ringside and the mystery man would ensure Sylvain's victory at King of the Ring. Sylvain admits that he doesn't really know who this person is but quite frankly he doesn't care as he now has what he wants. He and HHH go back and forth over the coming weeks about being the top star on Raw. Sylvain even goes as far as to claim that it won't be a match at SummerSlam; it'll be the most brutal passing of the torch ceremony in history. SmackDown!: Kane turns heel on newly crowned champion Jason Collins with the justification that Collins betrayed him by taking the World Title at King of the Ring. Kane could've cashed in Collins anytime but he didn't and now he paid the price for actually showing mercy. The two vow to destroy each other at SummerSlam. Ian Moore defends his WWE Intercontinental Title in a feud-ending cage match against Cash Stevens on the SmackDown! after King of the Ring. He retains, however, immediately after the match, a returning Shad (who has last seen being wheeled off to the hospital at Judgment Day) assaults Ian Moore and then frantically hands a piece of paper to the referee. The referee talks with the announcer and the timekeeper. It is then announced that there will now be an Intercontinental Title match between Moore and Shad right now. Everyone is puzzled. Shad takes advantage of Moore's beaten state to pick up the win and the title. The next week Shad explains that he's had the right to challenge for the Intercontinental Title ever since he won a four way back in December but Kofi Kingston had knocked him out the night he was supposed to have his match. He got caught up in the business of Kofi but always kept his title shot in his back pocket for a rainy day. Moore immediately demands his rematch and receives it. However, Kofi Kingston storms in from the back and assaults Ian Moore during the match and causes a DQ. Kingston pulls out a hood and claims he found it in Moore's locker room. The next week, Moore claims he's had enough of Kofi. He questions Kofi's belief that Moore is responsible for all of his misery. If it had been Moore and he had hired Shad to act on his behalf, why would Shad return and rob him of the Intercontinental Title? Moore says it doesn't matter because he's taking matters into his own hands. He wants Kofi Kingston at SummerSlam. If Kofi's mission to beat the truth out of everyone on SmackDown!, it's Moore's mission to beat some sense into Kofi. Kofi comes out and tries to apologize but Moore shoves it back in his face claiming his paranoia has gotten the better of him and his narrow-mindedness is going to cost him. Moore doesn't care anymore if Kofi believes him or not. At SummerSlam, it's about setting things straight. Jack Swagger is challenged by Batista to a match. Swagger accepts under the belief that his all-around wrestling style is more than a match for Batista's power game. Swagger will be the apex predator on SmackDown! after SummerSlam. |

It's amazing how much my desire to play this wanes despite me having SummerSlam mapped out plus ideas for NOC and a huge angle to start at Bragging Rights

Not me. I've got too much good stuff going down in my fed that it's hard to stop. I've got the unmasking of Kofi's mystery stalker coming up, the final showdown between the cruiserweights and heavyweights over on SmackDown!, Chris Sylvain's tyrannical reign as WWE Champion on Raw, Bragging Rights where I'll finally follow the WWE's example and unify the two women's titles, and the end of the near two-year long reign of Cash Incorporated as Unified Tag Team Champions. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned or I'll make a family member run for public office!!!

FEBRUARY 4, 2005 - SMACKDOWN!
February kicks off with a huge six-man tag team main event pitting both the WWE and World Champions as well as the Intercontinental Champion against the Royal Rumble winner, the King of the Ring, and the first Undisputed Champion in wrestling history! Plus, the World Tag Team Titles are on the line, a mixed tag-team match featuring the United States Champion and the Women's Champion, a return, a debut, and a triple-threat match between the last three men in the Elite Battle Royal from Monday night! We kick things off with the debut of Pepper Parks, who teams with Johnny Jeter and Richard J. Criado against Colt Cabana, Jay Briscoe, and Teddy Hart. The new generation of WWE is alive and kicking on SmackDown!, and they put on a heck of a match, but the fans still haven't quite gotten behind any of them. Cabana pins Parks for the win following the Colt 45. Brock Lesnar comes to the ring and grabs a microphone. He hypes up his feud with Rob Van Dam, reminding him of how he's already destroyed Axl Rotten, Nova, and Tommy Dreamer. By eliminating RVD's past, he's setting up to destroy his future. And tonight, the run continues. He awaits the arrival of his next opponent... a returning Spike Dudley! Spike hits the ring and runs right into a massive clothesline. Brock toys with Spike for a little bit before finally putting him down with an F-5 for the win. After the match, Brock grabs a chair from ringside and coldcocks the runt of the Dudley litter, further driving home his hatred for RVD. John Cena is backstage, and he cuts a quick promo about tonight's six-man main event. He focuses primarily on Chris Jericho - a man who has gone out of his way to make Cena's life difficult lately. And Cena really only has two letters for Jericho tonight - F and U! Back from commercial, it's time for a World Tag Team Championship match! Los Guerreros have held the gold for a little over two months and have turned back all challengers. But since Ron Simmons' return to the ring, the APA has been tearing up the tag team division and tonight they get their shot at the gold! The four participants definitely show that tag team wrestling is alive and well on SmackDown!, and Eddie looks to be about to put the challengers away with a Frogsplash on Simmons. Layfield hits the ring to try to protect his partner, but Chavo slides into the ring with a chair to drive him off. Unfortunately, while the ref is watching Layfield leave the ring... Chavo hits his uncle with the chair! Eddie falls limply to the canvas while Chavo walks away. Eddie manages to get to his feet, but is destroyed by a running tackle from Simmons and the three-count is elementary. We have new World Tag Team Champions! As the APA leave the ring with the gold, Eddie's longtime rival (and #1 contender for the Intercontinental Title) Tajiri hits the ring, then blasts Eddie with the Kick of Death! Eddie has been absolutely destroyed, both physically and emotionally! On the top of the ramp, Chavo has a microphone. "Hey, Uncle Eddie! Remember me? Yeah, I didn't think so! We were World Tag Team Champions, but all you could think about was the Elite. All you cared about was your feud with Tajiri or making the big bucks on two shows a week! Pay-per-view matches, interview segments... and where was I?!? Uncle Eddie, the Guerrero name means 'warrior,' but the only warrior in this family is me. You? You're just a sellout. I hate you, and I'll never forgive you for making your own family into nothing but your sidekick on your own selfish quest for glory! Tajiri's going to continue to destroy you, but when he's done, I'm going to pick up the pieces and prove once and for all that I carried this team and I am the best Guerrero!" Four days ago on RAW, Randy Orton earned his way into the Elite by virtue of winning a battle royal. To do so, he had to overcome his former Evolution teammate Dave Batista and his rival The Hurricane. Tonight, those three men meet in a triple threat rematch! It's a quick match, but a good one. Orton takes out Batista with a big clothesline, but eats a tiger suplex from Hurricane, which allows WWE's resident superhero to hit the Shining Wizard and pick up the win! Royal Rumble winner Christian is backstage, and he also talks about tonight's six-man tag match. He focuses his attention on the WWE and World Champions, continuing to stress that by virtue of his Royal Rumble win, he can face either one of them at WrestleMania for their championship. He also talks about his team with Benoit and Jericho as being like a Canadian mafia. He coins the term "Nova Scotia Cosa Nostra," and of course the IWC loves it and the trio will now henceforth be known as such. On RAW Monday night, Rey Mysterio and Mickie James insinuated that they would be facing Matt Hardy Version 2.0 and a Diva in a mixed-tag match. And tonight, that match happens as Hardy brings Jazz over from RAW for one night as his partner. The men control most of the action, including the finish, which sees Matt nail Rey in the face with the ring bell while the referee tries to separate the women. Matt gets the cheap pin, but afterwards the pairs of rivals brawl up the ramp and out of sight. The Rock cuts a promo on the new Nova Scotia Cosa Nostra stable, talking about how he doesn't care if Christian chooses him or if Chris Benoit cashes in his Money In The Bank title shot or if Chris Jericho... is also there, but he's going to enjoy getting his hands on all three of them tonight and checking them aaaaaaaaall into the Smackdown Hotel! EWR doesn't care much for multi-man matches, but it sure as hell loved the six-man tag match main event tonight. The babyfaces isolate Christian early, but once he manages to tag in Benoit, the NSCN work over Cena for a bit. Eventually it comes down to Rhyno and Christian, and Rhyno gets a measure of revenge for weeks of torment at Xian's hands by nailing him with a Gore to send the fans home happy. |

FEBRUARY 11, 2005 - SMACKDOWN!
Tonight's SmackDown! promises to be one for the ages, as twelve of the biggest stars in World Wrestling Entertainment square off in a series of singles matches just 16 days until Superbrawl! But everyone's rivals are lurking, which is the recipe for a very volatile night. Plus, Brock Lesnar's mission to destroy Rob Van Dam's past continues and a twenty-man battle royal for a shot next week at John Cena's Intercontinental Title! But first, two very exciting young stars of the cruiserweight division go toe-to-toe in a match that both Air Paris and Derrick King hope will help them climb the ranks for an eventual shot at the gold. They put on a tremendous match to kick off the show with some great nearfalls. Eventually King hits Paris with an inverted suplex for the victory. After the match, they shake hands in a great display of sportsmanship. The ring fills with SmackDown! superstars now, and as soon as the bell rings, the 20 men go right after each other - each anxious to earn a shot at Intercontinental gold. Test draws first blood, sending Brian Kendrick to the floor. Chavo Guerrero quickly sends Christian York out after him. BJ Whitmer sends Avery Thompson out next, and the up-and-comer John Morrison is taken out by Spike Dudley. The Metro Connection's Chris Kanyon takes out Trent Acid while Dave Batista eliminates Bubba Ray Dudley, followed almost immediately by Nunzio. Batista becomes the first to get two eliminations, but Chavo quickly joins him taking out Whitmer. Kanyon gets his second by eliminating Funaki. John Layfield eliminates Test next and we have our top ten. Chavo takes out Akio next, then Nova eliminates Layfield. Chavo continues his dominance by eliminating Spike, then Nova, then Ron Simmons, then Billy Gunn. We're down to our final four, but Chavo Guerrero looks unstoppable! Rico eliminates Chris Kanyon next, then brings Chavo's run to an end. It comes down to Superbrawl opponents Rico and Batista, and tonight the Nature Boy walks away victorious, earning a title shot next week! Brock Lesnar is in the ring after the commercial break, and he cuts a promo on Rob Van Dam. It's basically the same promo he's been cutting for weeks about destroying RVD's past so he can destroy his future. Lesnar's opponent tonight is D-Von Dudley. And the result is essentially the same. Brock spears him as soon as the bell rings, hits a delayed brainbuster, then a spinebuster for two. Thrust kick, but then eats a punch and a piledriver. Lesnar fights right back with a gutwrench powerbomb and the F5 for a squash victory. After the bell sounds, Brock isn't done, and he continues pummeling the hell out of D-Von, leaving him laid out. Once again, Lesnar has sent a message to Rob Van Dam of what awaits him at Superbrawl. One of the great rivalries of 2004 was the one between The Hurricane and Matt Hardy Version 2.0, and tonight they get another chance to show why as they put on another absolute classic. Unfortunately, Hurricane's rival Randy Orton gets involved, blasting him with a chair allowing Matt to hit the Twist Of Fate for the cheap win. After the match, the two go to work on him until Rey Mysterio hits the ring to make the save, helping his fellow masked man and driving off his rival Hardy in the process. Back from the break, Randy Orton remains in the ring for his match with Eddie Guerrero. It's not on the level of the Hurricane/Hardy match, but it's definitely exciting - one that proves that Orton definitely belongs among the Elite. Eddie looks about ready to hit the frogsplash, but before he can Tajiri enters the ring and levels him with the Kick Of Death. The referee obviously has no choice but to call for the disqualification, but that doesn't stop the beating. Tajiri and Orton continue working over Eddie until Hurricane comes back out for another shot at Orton with a chair, driving them away. Mickie James is backstage. The Elite Diva cuts a promo that basically is just a reminder that she's still Elite but that there are no Divas on SmackDown! So... hi. The Elite action continues next as Rey Mysterio takes on Tajiri. Rey has a huge United States Title defense against RAW's Damien, but his ongoing problems with Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy Version 2.0 continue. But, perhaps not surprisingly, it is Tajiri's issues with Eddie Guerrero lead to the conclusion of the match. Tajiri blasts Rey with the Kick Of Death, but Guerrero hits him with a frogsplash, resulting in another DQ finish. Hardy hits the ring to make the save, and we once again end with rivals being run off. Intercontinental Champion John Cena will be facing Tajiri at Superbrawl (not to mention Dave Batista next week on SmackDown!), but tonight he faces off against King of the Ring Chris Benoit. Benoit leads the somewhat limited Cena to a good match, but that's all for naught as Cena's rival (and Benoit's Nova Scotia Cosa Nostra stablemate) Chris Jericho takes advantage of a distracted official to slap the Walls of Jericho on Cena, allowing Benoit to get the cheap win. After the match, the members of Canadian Violence work over Cena until Cena's former partner WWE Champion The Rock makes hits the ring with a purpose to make the save. Jericho's got a tall order ahead of him after the break as he faces off against World Champion Rhyno in our next Elite encounter. Of course, we know Jericho and Royal Rumble winner Christian will be facing the WWE and World Champions at Superbrawl, and tonight we get two singles match previews of that huge main event. Great match that sets the table for what promises to be a hell of a PPV match, but again it's marred by interference as Christian lays Rhyno out with a chair allowing Jericho to put the unconscious manbeast in the Walls for a "submission" victory. After the match, John Cena looks for revenge as he drives off Jericho, allowing Rhyno to take out Christian and the babyfaces stand tall. In our main event tonight, The Rock faces off against Christian in another Superbrawl preview. In a night full of Match of the Year contenders, this one may come a notch short of Rhyno/Jericho, but it's definitely up there. Rhyno gets a measure of revenge from earlier as he nails the Gore allowing Rock to pick up the win. After the match, Chris Benoit sprints down to drive off the champions, and the Nova Scotia Cosa Nostra stands tall as SmackDown! goes off the air! |

FEBRUARY 18, 2005 - SMACKDOWN!
SmackDown! kicks off with Brock Lesnar making his way to the ring. His opponent tonight is Bubba Ray Dudley, the next opponent in his string of attempts to destroy Rob Van Dam's past. As soon as the bell rings, he blasts Bubba with a belly to belly suplex, and he doesn't let up from there. Bubba gets in some offense, but he eventually eats the F-5 just like all the others before him. After the bell, Brock continues pummeling Bubba, leaving him laid out. He grabs a microphone from ringside and reiterates his mission. He will one day become WWE Champion again, but his first order of business is to destroy Rob Van Dam's future after he's done destroying his past! Speaking of missions, Mickie James outlined hers on RAW, and tonight is her second defense - this time against her friend Victoria. Decent back-and-forth match, but eventually Mickie picks up the win with the Mick Kick. Rhyno is backstage. He hypes up tonight's big tag-team main events, but mostly focusing on Royal Rumble winner Christian, begging him to choose him for his title opportunity at WrestleMania 21. Two weeks ago, Chavo Guerrero shocked the world by betraying his uncle Eddie. Tonight, he gets a chance to back up his statement that he is the best Guerrero, and Eddie has a chance to get some revenge as they go one-on-one! Excellent match that sees Chavo look like a legitimate threat, but eventually Eddie's got him down on the mat, preparing for a frogsplash. But out of the crowd comes Tajiri, who trips Eddie up on the top rope, resulting in a DQ. On the floor, Tajiri sends Eddie into the ringpost for further insult, but Eddie fights back and drives both of them off. Eddie grabs a microphone and cuts possibly the promo of the year. He talks about how Tajiri has taken this too far now. It was one thing to attack him physically and mentally over the last couple of months, but now that he's brought his family into things, his luck is going to run out. Two weeks ago, Chavo woke him up when he called him a sell-out and a traitor to his own family. The only thing that's going to be selling out now is the arena when Eddie finally gets his hands on Tajiri, because it's not going to be something these fans will ever forget! Last week, "Nature Boy" Dave Batista won a twenty-man battle royal to earn a shot at John Cena's Intercontinental Title tonight. They put on a very physical match-up, further proof that these two could be the future of the SmackDown! brand, but Cena's rival Chris Jericho once again sticks his nose into Cena's business by blasting him with a chair. Batista picks up the pieces and hits a Batista Bomb to win the title! They tie Cena up in the ropes and work him over with punches until the ring fills with officials who manage to drag them away. Eric Bischoff appears on the TitanTron. "Okay, that is it! I have had it with the two of you always being at each other's throats! Chris, you've got a tag match at Superbrawl you should be preparing for, but you're too busy jumping Cena at every turn. And John, you were supposed to be defending that title against Tajiri in nine days! But now because the two of you can't leave well enough alone, Mister Batista is going to be the one running with the ball. Good luck, Dave, and make me proud. But as for the two of you? I am hereby issuing a moratorium. Unless it is part of a sanctioned match, you two are forbidden from having any physical contact with each other! And if either of you disobeys my ruling? You'll be fired!" Up next is a big tag-team match pitting World Champion Rhyno and The Hurricane against Christian and Randy Orton. Very good match between four hungry stars ends with Orton catching Hurricane with a low blow while the ref's back is turned, then rolls him up for a cheap win! After the match, the brawling continues until they're separated. The Hurricane grabs a microphone from ringside and - once his voice drops back to its regular pitch - calls out Orton. He again calls Orton a villain and says he can't wait until Superbrawl when he can finally vanquish his foe! Tonight's main event is another huge tag match pitting WWE Champion The Rock and United States Champion Rey Mysterio against Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy Version 2.0 and King of the Ring Chris Benoit! Lots of good action between the four of them, but we eventually get a mirror of the earlier finish, Benoit cheapshotting Rock below the belt for a roll up and the cheap win. After the match, all four continue brawling as SmackDown! goes off the air! |

FEBRUARY 25, 2005 - SMACKDOWN!
With just two days to go until Superbrawl, the WWE superstars are looking to make one last impression on their opponents - as well as rivals they won't be facing on Sunday. We kick things off with tag team action as ECW Originals Nova and Spike Dudley team up to take on Test and fellow ECW alumni Nunzio. Pretty good match that showcases four guys who are pretty well stuck in the midcard. Eventually, Test lays out Spike with a big boot to give the heels the win. For a time last year, Billy Gunn and Chris Kanyon were the dominant team on SmackDown! Now that Gunn has seen the error of his ways and turned against the Metro Connection, Kanyon has been adrift. Tonight, former partners collide. It doesn't take long before the two are brawling into the corner. The referee tries to break up the fight, but after being shoved aside by both competitors, the referee disqualifies both of them! That doesn't stop them, though, as they brawl up the ramp and out of sight, clearly some bad feelings linger after their breakup! The Hurricane is backstage, preparing for tonight's big six-man tag match. He talks primarily about his feud with Randy Orton and their big match this Sunday at Superbrawl, though. Last week on SmackDown!, "Nature Boy" Dave Batista won the Intercontinental Title from John Cena. Sunday night, he faces off against longtime rival Rico Constantino. But tonight, Batista teams with new World Tag Team champions the APA against Rico and the Dudley Boyz! Rico and Batista start the match, but the cohesion of the Dudleyz help the babyfaces isolate the IC champ early. Once Batista tags out, the heels work over Bubba. Eventually, it comes down to Rico and the Nature Boy, and Sunday's challenger picks up a big win with his spinning leg lariat. Back from commercial, Joey Matthews from M'n'M is already in the ring, and he faces an unenviable task as he's the last stop on Brock Lesnar's ECW run. Even more unfortunately for Matthews, Brock is rebounding from his first loss on this run. The bell sounds and Brock hits a piledriver followed immediately by the F-5 for the squash to end all squashes. After the match, he lays Matthews out with a brutal clothesline and a series of stomps. Clearly, Lesnar is more focused than ever on his match with Rob Van Dam! Matt Hardy Version 2.0 is backstage, and he cuts a promo on Rey Mysterio. They may not be facing off at Superbrawl, but he knows they will sooner or later and - when they do - Matt is going to make sure that Rey is finished. And that's a Matt Fact! Three of WWE's most popular Divas square off next in a triple threat match for Mickie James' Women's Title. Mickie continues her run through the division as she hits Lita with a tornado DDT for another successful title defense. Three weeks ago, Eddie Guerrero was betrayed by his nephew Chavo thanks to some "enlightening" from Tajiri. Tonight, Chavo and Tajiri team up against Eddie and John Cena! Good solid match that sees power moves from Cena and high-flying from the others. Eventually, Tajiri picks up a cheap win by rolling Eddie up with a handful of tights. After the bell, all four men continue brawling until they're pulled apart. Eddie again grabs a mic and again cuts a killer promo on Tajiri. Not a bad way to build a feud, huh? Let one of the best talkers in the industry talk? Genius! Our second six-man tag match is up next, and it's a huge one as The Hurricane teams with the World Champion Rhyno and WWE Champion The Rock Randy Orton, Royal Rumble winner Christian, and King of the Ring Chris Benoit! Rock and Benoit stay out of it for the most part, leaving most of the fighting to Orton and Rhyno. Eventually, though, it's Hurricane and Orton alone in the ring with Hurricane picking up a big win against his Elite rival with the Eye Of The Hurricane! Tonight's main event pits Rey Mysterio against Chris Jericho in a battle of two of the Elite's best technicians. It's a fantastic contest, as one would expect, but it's also one marred by interference. Matt Hardy Version 2.0 hits the ring and blasts Rey with the Twist Of Fate, allowing Jericho to pick up the win. After the match, the heels double-team Rey, leaving him laying as SmackDown! goes off the air. |

So here are the results!
Shelton Benjamin defeated Mr. Kennedy. Kofi Kingston defeated Ian Moore. Kingston tries to make good after the match but Moore just walks away. The Miz defeated John Morrison. Miz takes advantage of Morrison's anger and argument with the referee to sneak out a pinfall. Jack Swagger defeated Batista. Randy Orton defeated Edge in an I Quit match. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes defeated Steve Austin and The Rock. DiBiase and Rhodes are now granted three demands each from their respective GMs. Jason Collins defeated Kane to retain the World Heavyweight Title. Chris Sylvain defeated HHH to win the WWE Title. Overall Rating: 93% After SummerSlam, I decided to take HHH, Edge, and Kane off TV to sell the carnage of SummerSlam and allow some of the other stuff I've got going on to breathe a bit. Unforgiven's on the way! |

Since I'm not sure I'll ever get to it otherwise (and if I do it will be ages from now surely) - the big storyline that I planned on ripping off from WWE was, obviously, the Nexus. I had 2 ways that I was thinking about doing it:
1. Build up for Bragging Rights, a huge 20-man tag team bout. Team Raw and Team SmackDown both feature a mix of big names, midcarders, and low-carders. As luck would have it, all 8 Season One NXT guys wind up grabbing spots in one way or another to represent their respective brands. The elimination match winds down, the field gets cut in half with both teams having 5 guys remaining, the Raw and SmackDown captains plus the NXT guys. Suddenly the NXT guys just start attacking their captains and steal the trophy for themselves. 2. The group isn't formed until after Season 2 ends and its participants are split with half going to Raw and half going to SmackDown as I did with the Season 1 guys. The group forms with the SmackDown NXT alumni "invading" Raw sorta like in real life. They terrorize the company for a bit only for the Raw NXT guys to unite.....only for them to be in on it too. Either way, my version of the Nexus has two "branches" with the common goal of taing over the company. |
