What is the story on why/how he was shot? I knew it happened, but I never heard the whys and wherefors.

He was out with his girlfriend I believe when he heard a commotion in an alley. He went to check on it and some woman was either being rapped or mugged, I can't exactly remember which. Anyway, Perry stepped in and tried to stop the would be attack, pulled out a gun, pop, there it goes in Saturn's neck.
