i always viewed it like this,

WM13s match of austin vs bret hart is what planted to seeds a year before wm14 grew from those seeds.

I agree wm14 really kickstarted the attitude era tho, but that SOLE match at WM13 really changed things for me, i remember watching it at the age of 11 and when i was done thinking "woah, he didnt tap out...he passed out from blood loss?" you NEVER saw ANYONE pull something like that on the hitman, sure shawn didnt tap one year prior to that one, but that was someone who was a bonified star that was around since the 80s, this "new guy" (austin) did it in a totally different light, and with no REAL legacy behind him quite yet in the WWF. But that match def started it, and like i said, planted the seeds for a tree austin would climb the top of one year later.
