Anyone been watching the college world series? Always love watching the CWS for some reason, this year has been great. Fresno St. was a ridiculous underdog to even make the Final 8, and they are up 19-10 in game 2 of the FINAL finals. Forcing a rubber game for tommorrow. The pitching staffs are so rediculously screwed for both teams, should be fun to watch tommorrow

HOUSTON -- The Houston Astros have released Shawn Chacon, opting to cut the right-hander a day after he reportedly grabbed general manager Ed Wade by the neck and threw him to the ground.

The team requested waivers on Chacon on Thursday for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release. If he isn't claimed by another major league team by Monday, waivers will expire and his contract will be terminated without pay.

Ok, help me understand because this is the one area of sports I just never get. So, how can they just terminate his contract like that? I can understand that they can relase him or whatever, but don't they owe him the money he signed for? I'll never understand this.

Can we talk about a guy getting seriously slept on this season? Rich Harden despite his history of injuries is an absolute stud this year. Last night he went 8 shutout innings, struck out 11 while allowing 2 hits and a walk. His ERA is 2.15 and he's not getting any love.

Now then for today's scary fact of the day: Damion Easley, Marlon Anderson, Endy Chavez, Trot Nixon, Fernando Tatis, Moises Alou and Angel Pagan have all played left field for the Mets this season.

Together, making one left fielder, they have hit .184 with two home runs and 30 RBI, good for worst in the National League.

Wow, it's only 6 starts but Pedro's numbers are scary bad...7.12 ERA. I really hope he can turn it around but with all the injuries I'm not sure he can readily come back. Certainly his last year with the Mets and unless he experiences a rejuvenation I'm pretty certain this is his last year period.

Still...his 4 year deal was worth it if you ask me. I fully believe that, ultimately, without him...Beltran and Wagner wouldn't have signed, Delgado and Santana wouldn't have waived their no trade clauses...none of that. Giving him that 4th year was crucial to coming across as wanting to win.

Great so the Mets swept the Yanks at Yankee Stadium and are gonna just go right ahead and get swept at Shea...don't really see how they can win tomorrow with Perez pitching. On the plus side if he sucks he might finally get the boot from the rotation.

Church is supposed to be back though, psyched about that.

I wonder if Santana is regretting being a Met yet...the Met tradition of never giving your ace run support is reigning supreme.

Fucking Nats park go apeshit about people going into seats they didn't purchase and they kick you out of the seats you purchased during a rain delay, and they made us wait in the concourse where I got wetter than I did in my seat. Also the parking is so terrible that they let you park for free at RFK stadium and take a shuttle bus to the game, but the one we took on the way back was one of those double decker tour buses that definitely wasn't suited to drive through Southeast DC so a ton of people got smacked in the face by tree branches. lol
