Punctuation is a part of grammar. If you have a sentence without any punctuation, you effectively have an impact on the meanings and functions of the words contained in the sentence. Thus, you're affecting the overall grammatical context of the sentence. "Men are women really trying to help you" has a completely different meaning to "Men, are women really trying to help you?" As if, if someone else had pulled you up on it, you would say something like, "oh, don't you mean verb tenses? ". It's all a part of the same area.

So don't sit there and try to be snide while you split linguistic hairs. You know what I meant.
