What I hate is that so many of my friends (ironically...Packers and Pats fans) are all like "Well the Giants are just a 10-6 team that happened to get hot at the right time, they weren't the best team in football by a long shot "

All I can say to that is "isn't the goal of every team to make the playoffs and get hot at the right time?"

Exactly. To be honest, rarely does the best team in the regular season actually go on to win the whole thing. Hell, it doesn't matter if you make the playoffs with a 7-9 record, as long as you win the Super Bowl then it doesn't fucking matter.

I've had people say that to me too. I don't give a fuck. The Giants won the Superbowl. They put it together at the right time. Last time I checked thats just the same as a team that steamrolled every opponent and won a Superbowl.

Exactly.

It feels weird...you would think that after winning the SB my expectations would be high, but they aren't. Last year, I was expecting them to at LEAST get past the Wild Card round of the playoffs and it would be a good year. This year...I'd probably only be pissed off if they missed the playoffs altogether. It's like being responsible for one of the best comebacks and upsets ever has actually LOWERED my expectations, and I'm not sure why.
