From what I gather...after Eddie died, Vince continued to pay his remaining salary to Vickie as normal. I almost think that Vince eventually got sick of paying all that to someone no longer on screen, so he asked Vickie if she'd like to take a full-time on-screen role. So, I THINK Vickie just inherited Eddie's old contract, however long that might be for.

I might be wrong on that second part though...all I know is Vince definitely continued paying Eddie's contract after he passed
