Wheelchair brakes would not break that easily. They would work properly, and if he was not secured in a seatbelt, he would go flying forward and roll down the hill anyway.
You really need to get ouside/get laid and develop a sense of humor. It's a fuckin terrible movie exploiting a kid in a wheel chair. Lighten up
