But they can update gimmicks with DLC. As most expect them to do with Kendrick. How often do they add match types anyway? We've had a twist on Buried Alive and now an Inferno Match in, what, the last 4 or 5 years? The latter of which has been used 4 times on TV.

Plus all of the main wrestlers will always be there assuming they don't get fired tomorrow. I hardly doubt that the majority of people who buy the games won't buy it next year because London and Kendrick are finally in this year's game.

And they won't abandon the series for a year, that would be fucking stupid on their part considering how much money this series makes THQ.
Well they ain't giving DLC for free are they? They'll probably make a fair amount out of DLC, especially if it's quality they're providing.

End of the day, there are people that won't buy the game every year as they see the game making little progress year on year - or in last years' case taking backwards steps.

But why would THQ take one of their most profitable game franchises and NOT release it one year just because of DLC? Not everything they want to update can be solved with DLC.

Like I said, gameplay tweaks such as this years revamp of the tag team matches would not be a DLC. A few reasons like that alone, they are not going to stop making full fledged retail games.

As a company, what sounds better...bringing out a $60 game every year with possible $20 or so worth of DLC or putting out one $60 gsmr every 2 years with say...$60 of DLC?

Keep in mind not everyone has their 360's, PS3's, and Wii's connected to the internet so those people would not be able to buy the DLC, which would cost THQ more money.

If sales on the games actually suffer a great deal, then THQ would consider it but while it is still selling they have no reason to skip a year. They've been producing WWE games for how many years straight? Yeah I've lost count. It sells. Which is the same reason why the Madden series isn't going to be skipping a year any time soon.
