Got the demo a few days ago. Played it once. Didn't enjoy. 2 of my mates though have been playing seperately and for quite a while and they both love it. One thing I have noticed that is pretty sweet is the re-creation of certain spots for some variety of achievements. Only time it's possible in the demo with the Austin/Rock match, but I noticed having to do 2 elbows through the announce table because at WMXV the table didn't break first time round, pretty much starting the match outside the ring, re-creating the finish etc. Be interesting/cool to see what the others are. Gonna look into renting it or picking it up cheap

Played the demo abit more and starting to like it more than before. Still probably wont pick it up on launch though. I hope to god you can turn that annoying camera off on the Relive, Rewrite, Redefine thing.

I can't afford a PS3 right now. I'll most likely have to wait until my birthday which is not until November 1st before I can play the game. I look forward to it, and at least but waiting for a long time, by the time I can play it, I may appreciate it more.

I look forward to rewriting Wrestlemania history: Hulk Hogan will beat The Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania VI, and Bret Hart will beat Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania XII.

lol. Been there, done that. When I was a boy, I would recreate the Wrestlemania VI main event all the time, and give Hogan the win over the Warrior. I think it'll be fun bringing out my inner-child, and playing Legends of Wrestlemania on my big HDTV, using a PS3. That's gonna be beyond rad.

I know some of you guys are not into the game, but I personally am really looking forward to it. You see, I don't watch today's wrestling at all, but I still appreciate the sport and get my wrestling fix from reading older wrestler's books. I love some of the stories they tell. I also love watching older wrestler's DVD's, as well as watching older matches.

In a way, I've become like an older wrestler because I love to reminisce about the old days with other old-school fans, and every now and then, I'll watch today's product, but then I won't watch it again for a long time, kinda like how sometimes an older wrestler will appear on Raw every now and then.

I still like to play wrestling games too, and I play the current ones, but I think I'd have more fun playing a game that has the older wrestlers. I tell ya something else, in all the games that have today's wrestlers in them, I always have the most fun when a storyline has a legend in it. I also usually just play the game using legends only. If a certain legend isn't already in the game, then I create them.

Having game that has nothing but legends in it is very ideal for me since it's full of the guys I grew up watching. I can finally have dream matches I always wanted to see, such as Hulk Hogan taking on Ric Flair at Wrestlemania, The Undertaker vs. Andre the Giant, Yokozuna vs. Andre the Giant, Roddy Piper vs. The Honky Tonk Man, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Million Dollar Man, etc. Another good thing is that I can also decide who will win those matches.

I doubt I'll bring over any SVR09 wrestlers overto the game. There will be no new-school guys allowed. Unless of course, I just wanna punish a few of them. Feeding John Cena, then Randy Orton to Andre the Giant would be fun.....

The game won't completely suck. It's a good rental anyways.

Tried the demo, Game is pleasing and the modes are cool. Concept is great. Controls and gameplay are fucking awful. The game is unplayable IMO.

Can you guys go into detail about what sucks about the demo?

Whats bad about the gameplay?

What kind of grapple holds can you do?

How do you run? How do you grapple?

How do you perform moves? Button combo (Warzone) or grapple hold, move (S vs. R)

Does the movement feel slippery or stiff?

Whats the control like?

I've been reading magazine previews about it. They say its more arcade style. Just a health bar, a directional pad, and the four buttons to execute manouvers. Basic stuff.

And the games got Michael PS Hayes (?) and Hunter Hearst Helmsley. I know who PS Hayes, but when was he in Wrestlemania? And its Hunter Hearst Helmsley, not Triple H. Also, hes in his full snob gimmick. Marked out when I saw that. (Its in the video on the other post in the VG forum)

The demo is fucking awful. Way too convoluted to be an "arcade game." There seems to be no variety, or reason, for the shit that happens.

So wait, nobody likes this game anymore? I'm still looking forward to getting it this coming friday. The concept of transferring all SvR characters over is great IMO. 40 legends, plus 60 SvR wrestlers? Thats a possible roster of at least 100, not bad going.

No one here really "liked" it once the demo hit. Maybe one or two.

And for good reason, the gameplay is lazy and all-around fucked up. Even on it's own (not comparing it to other games), while playable, it has A LOT of problems.

If they used a tweaked SvR engine, maybe with a slightly less "sim" feel (less regen, etc), it would have been fabulous and an easy buy for me. The presentation is awesome and I hope they adapt parts of it into the SvR series.

The Rematch, Relive, Rewrite mode would be a nice little addition for SvR alone, as long as they didn't sacrifice a proper career/storyline mode for it.

Yeah, the roster might be great, but the game play mechanics are fucking awful. It's repetitive as hell, and you barely have any decent control of what you're doing. If you want to do a splash off the top rope and you have to throw someone into the corner first, there's a problem. If you want to get a weapon from the ring, and you can only doing it by grappling a person by the apron, there's a problem. This game is just... not good.
