Only a 7.5 from Gamespot mainly because of the bugs.

Going through as a good character now, so I have to be careful about what I'm doing at all times. Really this is just build up until I feel brave enough to try hardcore mode with my tweener character Trash can Man.

Damn, Boone is nasty. Way better than any of the companions I had in Fallout 3, Fawkes excluded. He one shot kills legion members like nothing, and more importantly, he doesn't die within 5 minutes of getting them. Seemed like most companions in Fallout 3 were mad weak.

I played Fallout 3 like 4 or 5 times and was always a bad guy... this is no different. I'll hold out and be 'neutral' but I will kill and steal as much as I want.

Did anybody select the Wild Wasteland perk when starting out? If so have you noticed any weird things happening yet?

Well, bugs aren't necessarily anything new when it comes to Bethesda's games, so I'm hopeful the bugs are limited to minor issues.
However, I'm still a tad worried about all the bugs; I couldn't play Fallout 3 when I first bought it because of a bug that made it incompatible with my previous video card (8600gt). Basically that bug would always make my comp blue screen after 5 minutes of play time. I think I'll probably wait for the GOTY edition - that way I can get the game and expansions in one go, and hopefully everything will be patched up by then. |

Haha that is awesome. Were you anywhere specific or just out wandering about? Still haven't seen anything weird.(well anything weirder than normal for this game)
Was just looking over at the Fallout Wiki and was blown away by the comparison chart between this game and fallout 3. Most impressive was the number of locations in this game compared to fallout 3. Something like 400 to 200! My jaw actually dropped at that, as there is still locations in Fallout 3 that I've never even been to. |

I was in freeside. Happened when I reentered an area. Don't think it's area specific. Also, when it happens, a notifier pops up on the left, but it doesn't say anything. Just the fallout guy with a spaced out look on his face.

Probably never going to be able to get the soundtrack for this, just like Fallout 3. So fucking stupid that there is nothing but a sample disc. Has one of the best soundtracks, and no one has even ripped it. Nothing on Shadowhaxor or galbadia.

If you download the PC version of Fallout 3 and probably this, there's a way to get the songs. I got Butcher Pete from it.

There's a program that opens the files up. You'll just have to google it.

Just a warning for you guys. Make sure you make multiple saves, because like fallout 3, you can't keep playing after you beat it. Probably so they can release DLC allowing you to.

I enjoy the roulette table. I found one at a casino in Freeside. The Atomic something or other. Pretty fun. It's across the street from the Van Graff laser gun store.

lol van graff. I went in, and they said I'd have to wait because they're in a meeting. Kept going anyway, and they attcked me. Killed them all and raided their store, and now I'm entering the strip a rich man.

I had to restart after getting to New Vegas cause if you fuck around in the casinos, you eliminate potential side quests and what not.. I played for about 20 hours and had no problems with bugs.. I don't like how sometimes it'll divide multiple option quests into different quest threads and sometimes it keeps them together..
It's a sweet game though.. P.s. Why don't you get perks everytime you level up??? |

Because there's 30 levels this time instead of 20.

I know, but we aren't talking DLC... A perk every level with 30 levels in the game before any DLC would make it easier then it already is.

Have any you tried the bottlecap glitch at vicky and vances' casino in primm. I got over a million caps in like 5 minutes. There is also a XP glitch in vault 11 where you can rank up to top level in like 5 minutes. To do it make sure you didn't do the recent update, it removes the glitch.

If you got the patch, it doesn't work anymore. But he means this one
"Infinite Caps (Pre-Patch)First, you must go to the town of Primm. Complete the "My Kind Of Town" quest for them by getting a sheriff for the town. After you get them a sheriff, or the NCR's troops, you have to wait 3-7 in game days, and the Vikki and Vance Casino will open again in Primm. Go there, and exchange some Caps for some of the casino's chips. Then, turn in the casino's chips for caps. You will notice that when you turn the chips in, you don't have them removed from your inventory, however you get the payout. You can exploit this for as long as you want." |

Oh. Had no idea about that. Well I haven't played this in a hot minute so maybe I haven't downloaded the patch. I'll just unhook my network adaptor and give it a try today after work. Granted money isn't a huge issue for me atm, mostly because my caravan strategy netting me tons of money, but still, every bit helps in this game. Especially if you play on the hardest difficulty. Fucking go through stimpaks like a mother fucker.

You have to, to become a member of the BoS. So it was like a double bonus. I got to kill the Van Graffs and rob them blind and also became a Paladin of the BoS and got trained to use power armor and a free pair.

You don't have to do it. You can leave McNamara in power and you get a different quest from the BoS.

Not sold all of it though, I use plasma rifles so it's good to have a few spares for repairs. Love the PC version. Got a mod to create my own bottlecaps at workbenches (1 hammer, 1 paintgun, 1 scrap metal for 50) and a level 100 cap. Just need a new GFX card so it looks alright. |

The vault 11 is a XP glitch. Just go to the mainframe computer terminal and choose the 3rd option just keep clicking it but do not close out otherwise the option will dissappear.
