Furthermore, I don't know why so many people think Girardi will leave. Why would you want to leave a perenniel WS contender? And it's not like the Yanks are gonna dump him if they don't win the WS. Even if they get knocked out in the first round that won't be enough to warrant totally getting rid of the guy a year after a WS win.

Logically it makes no sense for him to leave since he's very good at working with young/inexperienced players but has some difficulty with veterans due to his tough style and workouts.

In Florida, the young players along with the fans and media loved him but the owner and veteran players disliked him. Mainly it was because of his confrontational style when given demands he think didn't help the team or interfered with his managing style.

The problem would be similar to why Randy Johnson and Joe Torre left the Yankees in the fact the media and crazier segment of the fanbase is too much to deal with year in and year out. Every big market team manager deals with this but in New York its magnified a lot more due to the huge sums of cash and tradition of every season must be worth a title or its a failure.
