Well, public betas always are the better option since so many people will play, and there are alot of asses out there who will try to find a way to cheat.

But it really does come down to how quickly they can respond. Any game, no matter how public the beta, will eventually show some cracks.

Or rather, point me to any posts that made you think that. I've been extremely vocal about how IW put together MW2. I can't imagine how you mixed this up, but you've been doing that a bit lately.
